2016 FedEx Cup : Free Pick for BMW Championship

Updated: September 7, 2016

2016 FedEx Cup

Quite a cut the field faces as the 2016 FedEx Cup races to its conclusion this month.  Great to see one and all here mid week at The Gambling Forum. 70 golfers will descend upon Crooked Stick with only 30 getting the honor of playing at the Tour Championship later in September.  With desperation in the air, a greater degree of fluctuation will be in the air.  Most will be going for shots and risk taking to make that final leap.  Where will we reap the profits from this PGA harvest?

2016 FedEx Cup : Rory is Back

Scary scene at the Deutsche Bank last week.  Rory struggled with the first three holes and still won the event.  McIlroy is a legendary front runner but he had to grind and produce a stellar win.  How did he do it?  Almost immediate dividends are being seen with a putter change and a new coach.  Many were skeptical including yours truly that this was not the right time to make such a drastic alteration.  We were wrong as now not only has his distance and accuracy return but a better way to finish the hole out.  Having won here in 2012, he has both the history and momentum to make him a true betting favorite for this event.

How to Watch Our Investments?

Golf channel will have this event Thursday and Friday at 3PM.  NBC will actually pick up early coverage at noon on Saturday with GC getting the late slot beginning at 3:30PM.  Last round on Sunday will have noon coverage with NBC picking up the baton for the final leg at 2PM.  So who do we like and why?  We have decided to go with top tier talent because of the madness of the scramble down below.  Our card has two heads up wagers both for the duration of the tournament.

  • Rory McIlroy over Jason Day
  • Dustin Johnson over Jason Day

Rory is an obvious take here.  The rest is about fading Jason Day here.

On Friday’s action last week, Jason was in mid round when his wife and two children were hit by a bus while in their car.  Spouse would go to the hospital as more of a precautionary action.  Jason was not told about any of this until he holed out at the 18th.  While we continue to wish the best for the Day family, one can hardly blame him for being distracted here.  His place is secure for next week and frankly we are a little surprised he decided to play here.  Good fortune in our two free picks and we will see you next time here at The Gambling Forum.
