The streaking Toronto Blue Jays aim to win a second consecutive series on Sunday when they close things out with the Baltimore Orioles in their ongoing four-game series. After nearly toppling the Tampa Bay Rays, the Blue Jays went on to win five straight games before finally dropping a loss to the Orioles on Saturday. The Orioles, on the other hand, have lost four of their last six games. Toronto’s starting pitcher Sean Reid-Foley will be spotlighted when he takes the mound opposite of Baltimore’s Tom Eshelman.

The Cincinnati Reds will be without their manager and potentially two relievers pending their appeals as they continue a four-game series against the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves on Friday night.

The three Reds at the center of Tuesday night’s wild brawl in the ninth inning versus the Pittsburgh Pirates learned the length of their suspensions Thursday when Major League Baseballl announced them.

The New York Mets are on the road as they open a three-game series with the fading Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night. Pittsburgh dropped the rubber game of their three-game series on the road against the Reds, falling 4-1 Wednesday night. The Mets swept the first series between the teams this season, taking three straight at home July 26-28.

The Baltimore Orioles will host the Toronto Blue Jays as the AL East foes resume a four-game series Friday night from Oriole Park. The Blue Jays have yet to name their starter, and the Orioles will give the nod to 29-year old right-hander Aaron Brooks. The Orioles hold a 5-4 lead in the season series.

The Boston Red Sox are on the road as they play the first game of a four-game set with the New York Yankees Friday night. Boston looked to salvage the finale of a three-game set with the Rays at home Thursday night: they were beaten 8-5 Wednesday night. New York split a two-game interleague set at home, winning 7-5 in the finale Wednesday afternoon. The Los Angeles Angels will be going for their fifth consecutive road win when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Indians in the first game of their three-game weekend series.

The Angels struggled in their last two series, losing to the lowly Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers. They will try to bounce from the disappointing series losses with a win over the Indians as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive.

A little interleague MLB action on Thursday afternoon and the American League Central will square off with the National League East as the Minnesota Twins tangle with the Miami Marlins at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida. This is game three of a three-game series.

The Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants will wrap up a three-game NL series Thursday afternoon from Citizens Bank Park. The Giants will give the nod to 27-year-old right-hander Dereck Rodriguez, and the Phillies will send 33-year-old right-hander Jake Arrieta to the hill. The Phillies won Tuesday’s season series opener by a 4-2 score, and the Giants won Wednesday’s tilt 5-1.

The streaking New York Mets will try to put the finishing touches on the Chicago White Sox when the two teams close out their ensuing interleague series on Thursday. A series-opening win over the White Sox marked the fifth straight victory for the Mets on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the White Sox have lost six of their last seven games. Zack Wheeler is slated to finish things off on the mound for the Mets opposite of Chicago’s Dylan Cease.
