The Blue Jays will send 26-year old right-hander Aaron Sanchez to the mound, and the Angels will turn to 27-year old left-hander Tyler Skaggs. The Angels won the season series opener by a 4-3 score on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays will continue a three-game series started when they clash at Angel Stadium on Wednesday night. Toronto swept Oakland in three straight games prior to Tuesday’s opener. Los Angeles is a disappointing 12-17.

The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers will wrap up a three-game NL West series Wednesday night from Oracle Park. The Dodgers will hand the ball to 32-year old left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu, and the Giants will turn to 29-year old left-hander Madison Bumgarner. The season series is tied two games apiece.

It’s the continuation of an early week set between a pair of National League teams down in Hotlanta. The San Diego Padres are on the road as they play the third game of a four-game set with the Atlanta Braves Wednesday night. Atlanta took the opening game of the series, picking up a 3-1 victory on Monday night. The pitching matchup for Tuesday’s contest saw Chris Paddack take the mound for the Padres against the Braves’ Julio Teheran. 

The New York Yankees will travel to Chase Field on Thursday for the final game of their two-game interleague series clash versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The anticipated conclusion of the ensuing two-game interleague series between the Chicago Cubs and the Seattle Mariners takes center stage in Wednesday’s MLB action. After a slow and sluggish start, the Cubs have seemingly found their stride and won their last four consecutive series. They are already closing in on the St. Louis Cardinals for the top spot in the NL Central, while the Mariners continue their neck-and-neck race with the Houston Astros. Chicago’s lefty Jon Lester has been hand-picked for the start on the mound against Seattle’s Marco Gonzales.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will travel to Globe Life Park in Arlington on Wednesday afternoon as they prepare for the second game of their two-game mini-series versus the Texas Rangers.

Chase Anderson continues to stake his claim to a spot in the back of Milwaukee’s rotation as the Brewers continue their four-game series versus the Colorado Rockies. The right-hander ground out a road win at Atlanta on Thursday, giving up three runs and seven hits in 5 2-3 innings of an 8-4 victory. Senzatela walked three while throwing 105 pitches as he seemed to battle himself as much as the strike zone established by plate umpire Carlos Torres. Senzatela had walked just two batters in his first two starts over 12 2-3 innings.

The St. Louis Cardinals are on the road as they play the second game of a four-game set with the Washington Nationals Tuesday night. St. Louis took two of three from Cincinnati at home over the weekend, winning 5-2 Sunday afternoon. Washington salvaged the finale of their three-game series with San Diego, winning 7-6 in 11 innings Sunday. The pitching matchup for Monday’s opener saw Michael Wacha take the mound for the Cardinals against the Nationals’ Patrick Corbin. 

The Detroit Tigers will try to end a four-game losing streak on Tuesday when they visit the Philadelphia Phillies for a two-game series. After splitting four games with the Boston Red Sox, the Tigers dropped two games on the road to the Chicago White Sox. Meanwhile, the Phillies are coming off three consecutive wins over the Miami Marlins. Right-handed pitcher Spencer Turnbull is expected to get the start for the Tigers opposite of Philadelphia’s Vince Velasquez.
