The Blue Jays followed that up with a 6-5 win on Tuesday night to ensure no worse than a split in the series. The pitching matchup for Wednesday’s third game of the set saw rookie Trent Thornton take the mound for Toronto against Minnesota’s Jake Odorizzi. First pitch in the contest was set for 7:40 pm ET.

The Washington Nationals will host the San Francisco Giants in the second game of a three-game set Wednesday evening from Nationals Park. The Giants will send 34-year old right-hander Jeff Samardzija to the mound, and the Nationals will counter with 32-year old right-hander Jeremy Hellickson. The Giants posted a 4-2 record against the Nationals this season.

The Oakland Athletics continue their quest for revenge on Wednesday after losing their first three-game series with the Houston Astros earlier in the season. However, it’ll come with the challenge of stopping an Astros team that has already defeated three of the league’s best ball clubs consecutively. Wade Miley is expected to get the start on the mound for the Astros opposite of Oakland’s Frankie Montas.

The Kansas City Royals will continue their American League Central clash at Guaranteed Rate Field on Wednesday afternoon as they get set for the third and final game of their series against the Chicago White Sox.

St. Louis split a two-game set with the Reds in Mexico as they won 9-5 on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee took two of three from the Dodgers on the road though they were dumped 7-1 in the series finale Sunday afternoon.
