The Cardinals own an 8-4 lead in the season series.

After a brief stint on the injured list, Max Scherzer is slated to make his return Thursday when the Washington Nationals complete a four-game series against the Colorado Rockies.

It is now or never for the Boston Red Sox with regards to challenging for the American League East title as they begin a crucial four-game series at home versus the division-leading New York Yankees on Thursday night.

Masahiro Tanaka has won both his starts coming out of the All-Star break by being effective more than overpowering for the Yankees.

The Chicago White Sox will be going for their third consecutive series win when they take on the Minnesota Twins in the first game of their four-game weekend series on Thursday night.

The Cleveland Indians are on the road as they face the Kansas City Royals in the opening game of a four-game set Thursday night. Kansas City finished up a short two-game interleague road set with the Braves Wednesday hoping for a sweep after prevailing 5-4 in the opener Tuesday. The Indians took two of three at home in the last series between the teams, which took place July 19-21.

The Atlanta Braves will be trying to increase their lead in the NL West when they take on the Kansas City Royals in the finale of their two-game interleague series on Wednesday night.

The struggling Miami Marlins are desperate for a defensive turnaround on Wednesday when they close out their ensuing three-game series with the Chicago White Sox. After losing back-to-back games by an 18-2 point differential, the Marlins could use a defensive pick-me-up performance in the finale. They’ll put their faith in starting pitcher Zac Gallen, who is slated to take the mound opposite of Chicago’s Reynaldo Lopez.

Out to end a run of no-decisions and hoping for some run support, Patrick Corbin takes the mound for the Washington Nationals in the nightcap of their day-night doubleheader versus the Colorado Rockies.

The doubleheader was required due to Monday’s rainout coupled with the fact this is Colorado’s only visit to the nation’s capital.

The San Francisco Giants will host the Chicago Cubs in the three-game series finale Wednesday afternoon from Oracle Park. The Cubs will give the starting nod to 35-year old left-hander Jon Lester, and the Giants will hand the ball to 26-year old right-hander Tyler Beede. The Giants won the season series opener by a 6-5 score on Monday night.

Why Choose TGF?

Many novice sports bettors choose to bet with their hearts instead of their minds. Sports betting is about statistical information, the type of knowledge that only comes through following teams, players and game results.
