2017 week 2 Free Pick Broncos vs Cowboys

Denver hosts the Cowboys this weekend in a matchup that looks great on paper. Dallas opened up at -1.5 and the number has bounced around that opener for the most part currently sitting at -2 at several offshore shops.  Many will be dying to take the Cowboys after last week destruction of the Giants and it being announced that Ezekiel Elliot will continue to suit up on Sundays (at least for the time being).  Dallas defense looked great and their offense looked decent against a good Giants defense. Meanwhile,  Denver survived a near meltdown in the 4th quarter blocking a potential game tying field goal after two fourth quarter turnovers allowed the Chargers to almost steal one.

Dallas will look to open holes for Elliot and keep Denver’s vaunted pass rush from planting quarterback Dak Prescott.  They will also look to continue their defensive momentum from last weeks drumming of the Giants where they held New York to 233 yards of total offense with only 35 yards gained on the ground.

Denver has great weapons on offense and just needs solid quarterback play to allow them to click.  Receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders comprise one of the leagues most potent duos while CJ Anderson looked sharp rushing against the Chargers last week for 81 yards on 20 carries.  But if you are going to talk about Denver you have to mention their defense and specifically their pass rush.  Von Miller is as good as any at pressuring the quarterback and the Cowboys will want to stay out of third and long situations where this Bronco pass rush can really pin its ears.

I’ve got this one coming in right around the current total of 42 but believe the wrong team is favored.
