College Football free Pick

College Football Free Pick goes with an inner state rivalry for Friday the 11th.  Utah and Utah State lock horns with both having strong defensive fronts. The linesmakers have made the Aggies of Utah State (1-0) as a +12 underdog.  Can Booker of the Utes (1-0) get back to his rushing form to run over the Aggies in this one?  Read on to see which way the wind blows with the TGF Free Pick for this one.

Iron vs Iron

The strength of both teams are going to collide on the field this Friday night.  Utah might have gotten receptions from eight different players but first and foremost the Utes rush the ball.  Their all Pac-12 rushing back was stiffled under one hundred yards on the ground against Michigan.  This time against Utah State, he has go to into a very strong front seven.  Fackrell and Vigil will plug holes at linebacker while DE Nielsen will get the push into the offensive line of Utah.  Little chance of jailbreak rushing here as Utah will have to dink and dunk down the field in this one.

Legs of Chuckie Keaton

Aggies QB Chuckie Keaton is much better than he shown in Utah State’s 12-9 win over an FCS school.  The greatest improvement a team sees is between weeks one and two.  Look for the Aggies to infuse more scrambling plays that cater to their QB’s mobility.  This will be the key in stretching out a quality defensive front for Utah.

Neither team has the vertical aspects that can cause the defensive fronts to be spread out in that direction.  Sideline rushing attacks by the backs for either team will not work.  Booker is very good for Utah but he is more north and south.  This game will go the way that Utah State will use the horizontal scrambling aspects of their signal caller.  Let him roll and loosen the Utes defense.  This is the key to taking Utah State +12 here.  The inner state matchup and mobile quarterback aspects combined with the possession game of the Utes makes the +12 too much to overcome.  Good fortune and we will see you tomorrow here at The Gambling Forum.
