Betting Pick: Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox

Expect some leftover fireworks on Sunday when the Chicago Cubs finish up their two-game rivalry series with the Chicago White Sox. The Cubs came into the series having lost five of their last seven games, while the White Sox have won five of their last seven, including a three-game series with the Minnesota Twins. Kyle Hendricks is slated to take the mound first on Sunday for the Cubs opposite of White Sox right-handed pitcher Ivan Nova.

The Cubs managed to avoid getting swept in their recent run-in with the Pirates, but they still lost the first three games of the four-game series.

Some better defensive play would certainly help. Hendricks will try to do his part on that end when he takes the mound against the Cubs on Sunday. The 29-year-old righty is throwing a 3.45 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP and a 7-6 record. He hasn’t had the best of luck after his stellar seven-inning effort against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Los Angeles Dodgers recently lit him up for six hits and five runs in four-plus innings, and then he went on to give up four hits and two runs in three innings to Pittsburgh Pirates.

The White Sox live for these head-to-head meetings, especially now that they are finally piecing together a team that can compete with the Cubs. No, they aren’t ready to take over the AL Central division or go on a World Series run, but their front office is quietly building an engine of young talent that could compete in the future. At the very least, they are capable of giving the Cubs problems in the rare times the two teams meet up.

Why Choose TGF?

The art of sports betting is not something that is taught or learned overnight. Like most hobbies, it takes time and effort to pick winning spreads and keep momentum. Many novice sports bettors choose to bet with their hearts instead of their minds. Sports betting is about statistical information, the type of knowledge that only comes through following teams, players and game results.
