Betting Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres make the trip north as they play the final game of a four-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers Sunday afternoon. In the opening game of the series Thursday night, it was the Dodgers drawing first blood with a 5-1 victory. San Diego bounced back and evened the series with a 3-2 triumph on Friday night. The pitching matchup for the third game of the set Saturday night saw Chris Paddack take the mound for San Diego against the Dodgers Kenta Maeda.

San Diego snapped their five-game slide as they picked up a one-run victory in Friday’s contest to even the series. The Padres entered Saturday fourth in the NL West, 16 games behind the Dodgers: they were three games out of a wild card spot. San Diego got two hits from Fernando Tatis Jr. (run) while Hunter Renfroe broke a 2-2 tie with a solo homer, his 26th, in the eighth inning. Eric Lauer didn’t factor in the decision as he allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits with a walk and six strikeouts over six innings. Craig Stammen (6-4) earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief while Kirby Yates worked the final 1.2 innings for his 28th save.

Los Angeles saw their nine-game home win streak snapped on Friday night as they couldn’t come back late. The Dodgers still own a hefty 14-game advantage over the Rockies in the NL West race entering Saturday despite the loss. Los Angeles got two hits from Chris Taylor (RBI) and Alex Verdugo (run) in the contest: the rest of the team was a combined two of 25. Clayton Kershaw didn’t factor in the decision despite a stellar outing: he threw seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits with a walk and nine strikeouts. Yimi Garcia (1-3) took the loss as he allowed a run on one hit with no walk and three strikeouts over two innings of relief.

Why Choose TGF?

The art of sports betting is not something that is taught or learned overnight. Like most hobbies, it takes time and effort to pick winning spreads and keep momentum. Many novice sports bettors choose to bet with their hearts instead of their minds. Sports betting is about statistical information, the type of knowledge that only comes through following teams, players and game results.
