Betting Pick: San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants

The San Diego Padres are on the road for the finale of a two-game set with the San Francisco Giants Wednesday night. San Diego fell 5-2 in the final game of their four-game series at home against the Nationals Sunday afternoon to end up with a split. San Francisco was blanked 1-0 by the Dodgers at home in the rubber game of their three-game series Sunday afternoon. The pitching matchup for Tuesday’s opener saw Chris Paddack take the mound for the Padres against the Giants’ Tyler Beede.

San Diego lost for the fourth time in six games as they were dropped in the finale of their set with the Nationals. The Padres entered Tuesday night fourth in the NL West race, 11.5 games behind the Dodgers in the division. Franmil Reyes (RBI) had two hits for San Diego while Ian Kinsler knocked in the other run in the defeat. Luis Perdomo got the start and didn’t factor in the decision. He threw 3.1 innings, allowing one run (none earned) on two hits with no walks or strikeouts. Craig Stammen (4-3) took the loss as he gave up four runs on five hits with no walks and a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. Stammen was burned, giving up back to back to back to back homers in the span of seven pitches.

San Francisco lost their second straight and their fourth in the last five games as they were unable to scratch out any offense against the Dodgers. The Giants entered Tuesday in the basement of the NL West, 17.5 games behind the Dodgers and six games behind the fourth-place Padres. San Francisco finished the game with five hits in the game with Joe Panik’s double the lone extra base hit. The Giants were zero for seven with runners in scoring position. Madison Bumgarner (3-6) was the hard luck loser in the game as he allowed one run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts over seven innings.

The art of sports betting is not something that is taught or learned overnight. Like most hobbies, it takes time and effort to pick winning spreads and keep momentum. Many novice sports bettors choose to bet with their hearts instead of their minds. Sports betting is about statistical information, the type of knowledge that only comes through following teams, players and game results.
