The Gamblers Corner:  January 26, 2018

Your source for quick news and notes around the world of gambling, including local and offshore sportsbooks.

NBA Wants a Piece

As we continue to await the Supreme Court’s decision on gambling in New Jersey, which could potentially open the floodgates on sports betting in the US, the NBA has had a change of position.  Reversing a decades-old anti-gambling stance the NBA outlined a plan for nationwide wagering on their sport. And in a surprise to nobody the league’s costs to “endorse” gambling is a heavy price. The key point of the outlines was the NBA wanting 1% of every bet made on its games in addition to other regulations. Will be something to watch going forward as that is a monster price to pay which could result in huge revenues for the league.

Super Bowl Betting Mania

Its Super Bowl time and the bets are flowing in as usual.  In an event that generates well over $100 million in wagers annually it’s no surprise there are a few huge wagers.  MGM is already reporting a multimillion-dollar bet coming in on the Eagles in early action. Maybe explains part of why the line has steadily dropped since open.

Offshore Report

Relatively quiet month on the offshore front as books are loading up on players ahead of the Super Bowl. Payout times of course vary among shops with Bitcoin obviously being the fastest. Most of the big shops are having reports of fast bitcoin payments within a few hours at the latest. Betonline, Bookmake, Bovada, 5Dimes, Heritage, etc all showing reports of mid four figure payouts being processed within a few hours. I’ve been hearing good things on a few of the smaller shops as well with Americas Bookie, HrWager, and 1vice having solid feedback.

Be careful depositing to BetDSI as have seen a few complaints recently on slow pays and various issues.  In their defense have also seen some reports of almost instant pays but it’s a situation that still should be monitored and there are better options out there currently.

Bitcoin darling Nitrogen has also seen an uptick in customers complaining of no pays, balances confiscated and poor customer service. With most shops accepting BTC nowadays I’d advise staying away from this Pinnacle clone with higher vig.

And of course, everyones favorite slow pay book group Jazz, which has to this day the greatest URL for an offshore book in sportsbook.com, is showing reports of payments but slowly.  Week plus reports for BTC and month plus for other methods.

Bonus Hunting

Super Bowl week usually brings out a decent amount of bonus offers for players to get down on the big game due to many wanting action.  Haven’t seen a ton of releases yet but imagine next week will bring a few more.

HRWager is offering a 200% freeplay bonus with a 18 time rollover. In addition they are giving away a huge home entertainment package that includes a 55 inch TV, soundbar, and mini fridge. Bettors earn an entry into the drawing for each $200 they deposit.

Betagame is offering customers a $10k Super Bowl Squares pool where for every $200 you deposit you get a $100 freeplay and a square on the board with only a 5x rollover.

The Americasbookie family is currently offering a 150% bonus on deposits over $300 with a 12x rollover. Various other percentages are available so make sure you go to their website and chat with CS reps to find the best deal for you.

Wagerweb is offering a 50% cash bonus up to $1000 and a Super Bowl Squares contest of their own as well.

If you want to get the best bang for your buck be sure to check around as there are plenty of books with various offers to give your bankroll a boost.
