Pace of play might well have the Louisville Syracuse game turning ugly in Friday night action starting at 8PM. Bobby Petrino is a polarizing coach with his fast off the field lifestyle and run it up mentality. Syracuse has plucked a coach from the MAC conference who definitely favors a quicker offensive attack. No wonder the total has been bet through the roof in this one. We will examine where the profit will be from this game that will hopefully pack the Carrier Dome.

Louisville Syracuse : Put Them in the Seats

Syracuse is in a bit of a decline but can turn around their fortunes fast with new hire Dino Babers. He was the Bowling Green head coach whose up tempo style got him success in the MAC this year. His opening game was somewhat a success in a 33-7 win. He beat an inferior team by a decisive amount. Even better is that his defense only allowed seven points in keeping up with his offenses fast pace. However the Carrier Dome was quite empty with only 31K of the 49K having seats filled. With Louisville coming to town, it should be a rowdy bunch hoping for a high ranked scalp this weekend.

Petrino Does Pour it On

Coach Bobby has to contend with Syracuse returning their seven top tacklers. However the betting public does not seem to concerned about this. Totals for the game opened up at 64 and have risen all the way up to 68 and we are still two days out. This is quite a concentrated effort by the sharps in this one to contend with. This much movement in that dimension with barely a nudge in the -14 Louisville that opened up. It has ticked to -14 1/2 but there is no magic number to stall at until it hits 17. With such offensive prowess last week, Bobby pulled most of his starters at half. Game will be closer than this at first so where is there still value to be bet on here.

First half spread is -8 on the Cardinals. With more plays being dialed in, look for the better athletes to prevail against a good system here. Syracuse coach can not help himself and will keep the pedal to the metal for most of the game. Look for Louisville to continue their dominance with a complete performance here.
