Alvarez has rebounded quite well from his high profile loss to Floyd back in 2013. He has fought above shelf talent instead of gorging on cupcakes to get his record back in line. Erislandy Lara, James Kirkland, and Alfredo Angulo all fell by the wayside to get him here. His fans love that he does not shy away from a challenge at an age, 25, that have most thinking of career preservation. Best of all is that his natural inclination is that of an offensive minded fighter in an era of caution.

Miguel has been around seemingly forever. Back in 2012 he stumbled twice and looked to be down and out. Floyd will do that to you but the loss to Austin Trout is still a head scratcher years later. But comebacks are part of the long history in boxing. He dug himself out of this hole an took on Sergio Martinez. 2014 saw he demolish him and has him back in the limelight. Daniel Geale’s knockout in the fourth round was the cherry on top of his return to the top.

Can Cotto counter the creativity that Alvarez conjures up attacks? Combinational attacks need a heavy ose of experience to turn away. Miguel has this talent and so much more.
