? Most calls I've made in this playoffs have been before the decision was made; as it was in this thread when he brought in Morrow and before he thew a pitch. I got my ass handed to me betting sides this year and quit. The postseason, managers go away from comfort zones and overthink themselves and cost their teams games. Roberts did that tonight; it was noticeable and predictable. Don't put a guy into a position he's never been in his life in the biggest spot of his life. That's bad managing. Madden loves to do that.

Roberts should have stuck to his gut and went Strickland instead.

Roberts screwed himself tonight for a lot of reasons. If he doesn't use Morrow tonight, he can easily use Morrow and Janssenn for 4 innings in game 6. Now he probably can't use Morrow in game 6. Morrow wasn't going to be good tonight, so even if they lose tonight at least they have a huge bullpen edge in 6 and 7.

agreed. he went multiple innings a lot this season, and has been great. he's also started before. also has superior control in comparison to giles and keeps everything around the strike zone. at least let yourself get hit into a loss and not walked. too many managers challenge guys with things they've never done and get burned in the playoffs.

occasionally even squeak knows a thing or two about a thing or two.
