I tout him relentlessly as a college QB because everybody else is so fucking dumb about all things Winston I feel it's necessary. He's one of the greatest all time. I think he will succeed at the next level and not be out of the league within 3 years like so, so many people love to predict. I'm not going to try and and predict the future too much though because it's sports, nobody really knows. Just because you can't find an EOG post doesn't mean I didn't have the opinion. I don't give a rat's dick if you believe me or not. I hope Manuel gets a second chance to start next year and can prove you wrong.

He can't read defenses? I agree he has made some poor decisions, largely because of overconfidence in his teammates abilities (Benjamin can help make any QB look good), but claiming he can't read defenses is just wrong. Every QB has some bad throws or decisions (Peyton Manning just had 4 INT's tonight, can he not read defenses?), but overall it is a consensus amount the people that actually do this for a living that Winston is good at reading defenses. This is largely because of Jimbo's superb teaching.

Well, you didn't search hard enough and/or I posted it elsewhere, but I'm not going to bother digging for a link because I know what my position was. Manuel seriously regressed his senior year for some reason, I made note of it then and going into the draft, and I think it was poor O-line play causing him to be indecisive. He should have been a late 2nd rounder on potential (because he does have all the physical tools and is a pretty smart, level-headed kid). It's not like his career is over, either. Manuel was progressing nicely and then hit a developmental roadblock, unfortunately. It happens to 99.5% of quarterbacks as they continue to progress up the competitive scale. Winston is better than Manuel. He's also younger.

Not at all. I said that EJ Manuel in the first round was a mistake. I can be critical of FSU players. Winston is as good a QB prospect as you'll find coming out of college. Of course it's way more likely he busts because there are truly only about 10 good quarterbacks in the NFL, but he's not a dumpster fire waiting to happen. That groupthink bullshit everyone has going on him is wrong and unjustified. Watch the game. The kid can play.

Jameis is the second best NFL ready QB ever behind Luck (and he is significantly behind Luck, but still, he's an NFL style QB that already has the physical tools and the understanding of reading defenses and going to second and third options.) Put him in Dallas behind that offensive line and Jameis would be an all-star. Unfortunately he'll end up on a shitty team and likely struggle because he won't have time to go through progressions. Way too much stock is put in QB's when really it's the offensive lines that are determining how good many, many QB's look at the pro level.

Haven't followed high school recruiting/talent nearly as much as years past, but I would probably make Oak Hill a favorite. I would definitely make old Oak Hill teams favorites over bad D-I teams of years past.

I started watching Real World again back with the Portland group, so I tuned in tonight. The only people willing to be on a show like this anymore have some serious headcase issues, so might as well capitalize on that and bring them out in the open. Can't wait to hear the full back story on blondie Madison. Seems like a good diverse cast this season.
