  1. why is next week so important?  i don't get why it's either next week or months to get paid... those are far from the only 2 options

getting paid in 2 weeks and getting stiffed don't seem like 0 probability events

It's not about getting paid next week, it's about having answers next week.  That's what was promised in emails sent out to those that are owed. Either 1V has a plan next week or it's all a stall tactic.

  2. Since they said no payouts till after the Super Bowl, I'd assume they started paying out yesterday.  Someone should start a "1vice payout" thread so people with balances there can keep others informed.

Good point, but if you're owed 12k like me, you're careful about antagonizing 1 Vice.  I had a scheduled $3000 payout that was supposed to arrive this week (requested Jan 12th). It was canceled last week.  Waiting to hear when payouts will resume, and hope others will post when paid.

  3. How important is it to not only beat the closing but get the best number available? How do you consistently accomplish this?

Explain how the, "no juice when you win" mentality is a 1-way ticket to barreled in.

I do my own handicapping, so I concentrate on betting early and getting the best line available at that time.  To do this, you need many outs with some of them having early opening lines. Usually I beat the closing line, but I'm on the wrong side of line moves my share of the time.  It's a grind and you have to realize it if you take betting seriously.

PS  "No juice when you win" is only valid if you win every time.  Otherwise, you are paying juice like the rest of us, probably more if you believe that BS.

  5. What's the deal/contests at Madjacks with 1Vice?

I recently won $5000 at MJ and $1000 at TGF in December.  Just completed the rollovers 2 weeks ago and asked for a $3000 check.  Now that's on hold.  Just bad timing on my winning as it prevented me from getting my own money out.

  6. sucks being stuck here... but don't hate me if i feel slightly less bad for you because of that previous deal, while the rest of us suffered

    :cheers

You shouldn't feel bad for me.  I was up overall with BI, even including the 10k they took.  Same with 1V, I'm money ahead no matter what. But a 12k hit will still sting quite a bit.

  7. The first red flag was a few months ago when 1V welched on a promo and b3 had to pay the winning poster out of his own personal funds.

Funds that could have been used for his children or to put food in the refrigerator.

b3 has covered 1Vs blatant disregard for integrity more times then you probably know, Mr Yanks.

Definitely not 1V.  Try to get your "facts" straight.

  8. Whatd the email say?

    Subject: NBA GRIFFIN

Hello I am writing to you to formally apologize for the cancellation of our NBA promotion we offered you and then had to discontinue.

I understand you are concerned and you might feel cheated in some way, and I agree on some level.

When we came up with the promotional offer we were not counting on the greedy nature of some of our clients and that is the reason we pulled the plug. There were several cases where clients brought in their direct relatives and some case entire families, under different names in order to bonus whore us to death and to get past the strict betting limits we had in place as a safety for this promotion.

I am very generous with my money when it comes to giving back to my clients, however when things like this happen it ruins it for all involved and makes me feel like someone has just stuck their hand in my pocket and tried to steal my wallet.

I am not writing to make excuses. The bottom line is the promotion was a terrible idea from the word go and I had to put a stop to it. I am now open to review your account here once more and try to offer you a better service to make you more comfortable here.

Please let me know if you have any issues with your account that you would like to change and I will do my best to try and accommodate you or.

In conclusion I want you to know that I do value your business and also our reputation, I hope you can understand this had to be stopped and I meant no ill will towards you.

    Thanks
    Griffin
  9. Did anyone else receive an apology letter from Griff yesterday regarding the NBA promo? I have mixed emotions on it.  He blamed the bonus whores for ruining  the promo for the regular clients, but I disagree.  The promo encouraged bonus hunters to participate, offering up to 5 teams per depositor (if I remember correctly) if you could pony up $500 for each one.  It was so +Ev for clients and horribly -Ev for 1V that it sent up huge red flags.  Still I bought one for $500 and saw my limits drop to $300 in a few weeks and then to $100 later before they finally pulled the plug. I wish they never offered it as it severely tarnished their reputation, and I'm not sure they'll recover from it.

It's a shame because Griff has supported TGF and other forums generously, giving away tens of thousands in contest winnings. I personally won big via a 2nd place finish here in the Vegas contest and the $5000 grand prize in the Mad Jack's regular season contest.  The guy is generous to a fault, but he really screwed up on that NBA Double Pay offer which was obviously doomed from the start. I've forgiven him for it and am moving on, but I certainly understand why others are less inclined.
