Tony McFarr Dies: Chris Pratt Stunt Double Was 47© Provided by Deadline Tony McFarr, a stuntman best known as the double for actor Chris Pratt in blockbusters like Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, died of undetermined causes May 13 at his home outside Orlando. He was 47. His death, first reported by TMZ, was confirmed on the website of the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island, Florida. Ad McFarr’s mother Donna told TMZ that the exact circumstances of his death are unknown but that his passing was unexpected. The Orange County Medical Examiner has confirmed to Deadline that an exam has taken place and a cause/manner of death is pending toxicology results. His date of passing is listed as May 13, when he was found unresponsive. Born Antonio Gerard McFarr on October 12, 1976, the stunt performer launched his career as an uncredited stunt double for Geoff Stults on Bones in 2011. Numerous credits would follow, including Rock of Ages, Teen Wolf, The Glades, Burn Notice and, in 2014, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. In 2015, McFarr doubled for Pratt in Jurassic World, beginning a collaboration and friendship that would continue though the Jurassic sequels and Passengers. The duo’s physical resemblance made for considerable social media mentions. He had a half-dozen small acting roles in episodes of One Tree Hill, Burn Notice, Army Wives and MacGyver. Since 2013, McFarr has been the owner of Reel Bowls restaurant near Orlando. According to his Linkedin page, he owned a total of three restaurants in that career, including an eatery called The Fit Kitchen. According to TMZ, he is survived by a daughter, his parents and a sister. Services are pending.
