  1. What about the other direction?  In or out?  The moratorium issue, just boom in the next week,  maybe is not right but why not say - figure it out - be where you want to be by January 1.  2018 - the moratorium is in effect for the year and will then be evaluated.  Totally, fair - nobody but nobody goes to Afghanistan or whatever and nobody comes to the USA from that country.  Every race, color, or creed.  If you are an American citizen that does not get his butt home by January 1 - well that is too bad.

  2. I'm sure 20 year olds with catastrophic illnesses are the norm, it will happen but not to the extent that it cost more than the ACA cost healthy people who don't want insurance.

It's not just 20 year olds( just an example) older healthy people don't want to have to purchase it either.

It doesn't matter you can't unring the bell(all Americans covered) and single payer will be the norm in the future.

We will have a system like Canada at some point I'd imagine whether some like it or not.

We have lost the affordability for the demographic with less than 60k income.  I don't think it is so much the age of the people that do not want to have to buy insurance - it is whether they have assets to protect.  People with no assets just do not care and are willing to take that chance because they are living from one paycheck to the next and can barely pay the bills as it is.

  4. I know you guys don't like Cop but this was my bone of contention also, young healthy person getting started in life shouldn't be forced to purchase something they do not need.

In theory as you get older life you are supposed to become more successful and can afford a % of your monthly nut to have insurance where as a healthy young person is just wasting money he could put into investments for his/her future.

It should be a choice if a 20 year old wants medical coverage by all means buy some, but for those that don't they shouldn't be burdened by the ACA.

No system is perfect nor fair and this might be a disaster also but I know the ACA was.

Hi, young people just get emergency care and file bankruptcy when they have no insurance.  They have no assets to protect, yet.  That is like shoplifting and shifts the cost to the people that do have insurance.  People that have property - assets - would lose everything to a big claim and they are stuck paying a premium affected by cost shifting.

  5. I took the tax subsidy for the first time this year, and have a good plan now. I don't think they have Blue Cross Blue Shield offered in South Dakota right now. But I will make note of it , and check it out when things come to fruition ....thanks!!

Blue Cross in South Dakota is not a member of the marketplace so that is for rich people that do not need a subsidy.  Avera and Sanford are in the marketplace.

  6. Had 2 - passed one and surgery on the other because there were two stones that moved and got stuck together, like two pieces of rice.  Then they put a stent in so the irritated areas in the ureter would heal properly.  From what I learned it is important to analyse the stone to determine it's makeup - primarily calcium based or acidic.  My ph level was acidic so the Doctor prescribed a potassium pill 3 times a day to get my ph levels a steady 5.5 again.

Been two years now and the potassium pills are working.

  7. Sports forums were originally invented to be watchdogs and inform readers about shaky places to bet at - where people were getting screwed over. Then we found out there should be watchdogs to watch the watchdogs.

The discussion earlier on whether money paid to touts is lost to the gambling ecosystem was interesting. Consider the fact that touts generate some volume - how much is anybody's guess? Losing volume is good for the sports book and the winning player.

I don't know - Samuel Colt invented a pistol that killed a lot of people. Wonder if he slept at night? But, my opinion is winning players should be happy that touts are around to get volume into the books that would not be there otherwise. When you think of the scenarios of what would it take to put the sports books out of business one of the big things would be if more people won. Ever heard of a sports book kicking a player out because he won using a tout's picks?

  8. Pretty much that.  The only service where I'm aware Bob currently has access to the live plays are Fezzik's BLAP, and even that isn't 100% verifiable as a widely available record because 1) Fezzik includes things like props where there's no line history.  There have been times I had prop screens open at the Greek, 5D etc when Fezzik happened to post a prop a few minutes later, and the line was already stale from my unrefreshed screen, like Greek had -130, 5D had -125, and Fezzik released -115.  And 2) Pregame's grading standards allow Fezzik to steam chase from square books where an actual customer regularly picking off stale lines from William Hill and similar would probably see himself booted.  I've seen him post lines from "Pinny" when Pinny actually moved 7 minutes earlier.

I'm not sure if Bob is verifying the lines to be widely available as in 20 months of tracking I haven't noticed him questioning any lines.  All that having been said, the props are only a small percentage of plays and the steam chases only seem to be blatantly bad once in a while, so I would suspect Bob's overall tracking of Fezzik is reasonably close to a true WA record.  It's not as bad as VegasInsider where they're allowed to use sportsbooks that are closed for the night and such; Pregame used to do that but knocked it off after the Deadspin article.

Bob also tracks the SportsMemo touts based on their past-posted recaps and in that instance, there's no way to verify the lines either as the plays aren't timestamped, so the tracking there should basically be considered a "best case scenario" for the touts. However my guess is that the SportsMemo lines are probably fairly reasonable because I looked at the last 10 or so Teddy Covers plays and only 4 beat the closing line vs 4 that lost to the close and 2 that closed at the same line.

Yes, if someone actually plays at Pinny or some other places that clone or layoff at Pinny you can see the number - refresh the screen - number is still there - try to bet it and it will not confirm at the price and changes. So, it was a number that was not actually there. As far as someone tracking - they are giving the tout credit for an air number and that is not accurate.

I have always thought the only way to track touts was to do it yourself and if your results come pretty close to info available then I feel ok about the accuracy.

But, is it worth it to do all this tracking? There are no shortcuts - anybody who wants to win needs to compile their own data - make their own line - define their own value - track their own results. I fail to see why RAS sells picks if they are so good or why Bob tracks Fezzik unless it is for entertainment or some type of endorsement or criticism of Fezzik.

  9. I believe Pregame wanted him to track them so he got access to the services and grades based on the line released versus the line availble. The others also gave him a sub.

That is why I brought it up. There is a massive thread there where Bob tracks Fezzik. Interesting site - kind of like a forum for touts or wannabee touts.

  10. Do you have to buy them all? How do you track the entire body of work at a price that is possible? Isn't that the catch 22 of touts - there is absolutely no way to believe what the tout says and any and all trackers do not have all the picks at the real time and price?

  11. Without the government's help - Crop insurance - flood insurance - Medicare Part D - et al - would all break the insurance companies covering those things.

Eventually the government will have to help pay the claims on medical insurance and then they can get help control the premiums if the insurance companies do not have to worry about underwriting losses.  More stringent control of what providers can charge.  The providers will be able to do this if they do not have to worry about getting stiffed.

  12. It is not just the poor people that would be affected - incomes up to 80k will need to find a way to pay 20k in insurance. If the big complaint is high premiums the government is going to need to subsidize claims similar to crop and flood insurance. Everything has consequences - the part about America First-how does turning our back on lower income America help make America great again?
