  1. So, the buried it at Oak Island - there must have been a way to get to it without setting off the booby traps?

Smith cove - they stopped with the excavator because they did not want the coffer dam to collapse. Duh, move over inland 20 yards. Get those drains plugged there and on the other side.

But, the hoax theory - who could benefit from such a hoax? They are not even to the point that they have a rock solid theory on who buried what?

  2. Anybody have any idea what kind of income dumps in from the tv show?  Absolutely no idea what keeps them going.  The box drains should have been coffer dammed and plugged a long time ago - the heck with the wells - stop/get rid of the sea water draining in and scoop the rest of that place out .

If somebody was going to come back and get something - how would they have got it - got by the booby traps themselves??? Hate to admit it but I tape it and watch it every week.  But, then again I watch gold rush and Bering Sea gold as well.

  3. Well, it is all about recruiting.  How, where, when is he going to be able to recruit players of equal ability to Nebraska,Michigan, Ohio State?  Where would you go to school - Iowa or Minnesota after this last clusterfvcK?

No coach can make up for that much of a disadvantage in the talent level.  Even if he brought last year's entire team along I think Western Michigan would have had about the same record as the Gophers did.  They would not have beat any of the teams the Gophers lost to.

  4. My favorite coach at Iowa was DR Tom Davis.  Up tempo - full court press the entire game.  Was a master at substitutions to do this - especially when the other team was shooting free throws.  After the first make he ran a guy over too late to get in but then on the 2nd make it stops the game and his sub gets in and they really have time to clamp on the press.

The press after made baskets was brutal to other teams at times.  Iowa makes a basket - puts press on gets a steal - makes the basket - puts the press on again!

  5. If he wanted to do maximum damage why didn't he kick them all off right away and try to crater the season. University presidents make twice as much money because of athletics. They aren't going to try to destroy an athletic department any more than they are going to pay the players and have a team at half the cost. That savings comes out of their salary. Getting a little carried away,

He did kick them off right away and let them back on again.  They had a restraining order on them so they could not play in home games where the cheerleader was in the same stadium.

  6. Wow, what a list!  I did not see spectrocoin or bitstamp - is your list more or less new ones or those off the beaten track.

You know - like watchdog sites in the sports betting area.  Is there a watchdog site for bitcoin complete with a blacklist, etc.?

  7. He waited until after the season to minimize the damage and the hoods revolted on him.

Minnesota will always be a 5-7 school. Hire a winning coach, get tired of winning 7-8 games and decide to win 5. Rinse and repeat.

It is my opinion he did it when he did to cause the maximum amount of damage to the athletes involved and the football program in general. Got more publicity this way, asserted his authority as more important than the law and justice system.

  8. How can you kick ass at Minnesota?  Be lucky to hang on to any starters at all that can get a Division 1 scholarship someplace else. Jerry Kill's recruiting is pretty much gone now.  Program is basically starting over.  This guy will need to go out and get the best that he can get from junior colleges.  Why would a blue chip high school kid ever pick this school?

  9. He had a lot of time to come down on the players like he did but he waits until bowl time to cause the maximum amount of publicity on how tough he is?  Throws the coach under the bus and then fires him.  Just like the term paper scandal under Clem!

Absolutely, the worst President and board of regents in the USA!  Duh, they have fired the last 20 good coaches they have had - blame the coaching staffs time after time after time - when they  in fact have no ability whatsoever to coordinate the athletic/academic programs.

This president and board of regents would not last 6 months in Nebraska,Ohio State, LSU, Florida State, Alabama, Kentucky, to name a few.

But, the people of Minnesota tolerate schmucks like this that are jealous of the athletic department and are happier if they can sabotage all the good work coaching staffs do just because it is different than academic excellence and  achieved a different way than what these SUPER pussies can comprehend in this day and age of political correctness.

I have nothing but hope for the new coach but he his working in an environment that is almost impossible to succeed at because the president of the U does not want to see athletic success.

Oh, btw, I am a Gopher fan - always have been - always will be.

  10. Absolutely....they put out a fake play and then when all the followers got down they banged it heavy on the way back....you just sometimes didn't know what side he really wanted....quite a mouse and cat fight between him and the books in the early days....

So, that lead to the book getting Polish middled?

And think of how many players also got hung out to dry that did not know how to make a line themselves and do the research to look for the angles he was looking for with his people.  Every time, a line moved you had to ask yourself - why - is BW or a big fish moving it or is there a fundamental reason?

The only players that benefited were scalpers - bang bang plays in and out - Ho's built rollover with this tactic.  These  players  were walking away with some money.  Don Best #'s actually hurt these guys - made it too easy for everybody to see line movement.

So, back to square one for the books and players.  Both have to know where value is - where the scientific number is.

  11. It is geographical.  He is from the southeast. You win - you get arrogant.  Tell me one team from the SEC that is not arrogant about its football program.  Oh, yes, and Tennessee is not arrogant?  Unless, they win 10 games they want to fire their coach and start over? They feel it is their right to win 10 games a year and even that is a disappointment!

  12. Bucky look at that first half line I posted, in post 9. Who would bet Detroit? Dallas needs 15 yards for a FG. The game was a fucking track meet. Dak does not turn the ball over. It was free money. I almost fell out of my fucking chair to get the bet in. I clicked on Detroit by accident I was so excited.

I agree with what you are saying fundamentally - 1 big book can skew the marketplace if they are all one sided - Detroit started out playing well - maybe there was action on Detroit at -7 or so and they would lose a mountain if they could not get at least some Dallas money if there was a stop - I agree that nobody would bet Detroit at this price and I think they knew that.  If they juice this line to -200 Dallas and + 170 Detroit where that is maybe the scientific price - maybe they get more Detroit money on top of what they have.

That is exactly what you and I are looking for - a book dealing value because they need to and thus giving away a little value?  Some players will just not pay high juice - just will not do it.  But, if you can find a bet that you pay 1.35 for that is worth 1.70 - we have the world by the nuts.  Just a matter of proving or disproving our theory - bet a 100 of them and evaluate.

Problem is - we might have to sit there for 5 games before we get to play again?
