Trip included a stop in Vegas, room at the Frontier, tickets to Siegfried and Roy. Then onto a beachside hotel in LA and a day at Universal. Also included was an Iowa pregame bash on New Years Eve, followed by an early trip to the Rose Bowl parade with Jimmy Stewart as the Grand Marshal, and tickets to the game. Needless to say at the hotel where the Pregame New Years eve bash was held, the Hawkeye faithful drank up their entire supply of beer by something like 10 pm. After the game and being shut out 28-0, we had to get on the bus for the trip home. A 48 hour plus trip as it turned out. Fish and I went to some small 7-11 type place as the bus filled up for fuel somewhere in AZ or CA. He bought a warm case of bud and drank it all by himself. When we finally got back, after going like 15 mph thru all of Iowa in a blizzard, all you could see of Fishheads car was the antenna. Luckily we could just walk thru the blizzard to the Frat where we lived. I wish I were kidding but I desperately need to find the water line in my back yard. The original plumber and electrician did everything off the books when they set this mobile home years ago, so our local electric company doesn't have any record of electricity or water ever being hooked up at all.
