I am going to phrase this as best I can, admittedly coming from the background of being a black man in the USA. It's not that the underlying issues CAN'T be viewed without race involved. They can. As soon as they started paid, professional police forces in the USA in the mid-to-late 1800s, they should have had zero tolerance for this type of thing, regardless of who it was perpetrated on. It went on against almost everyone, minorities more than whites, though. History shows that. But, here we are in 2020. We are post-Trayvon Martin, et al. We are post-Kapernick. We still have a few gigabytes of racist and bigoted posts on forums that I visit about the police brutality situations. So, for you to say "I don't see what race has to do with all of this" comes across as trolling at a minimum. You and I have never had any real problem here, unlike my favorite "fremesis" mikeman, so I would give you the benefit of the doubt. I am surprised your colleagues didn't give you the benefit of the doubt on the "racist" part.
