  1. Was tempted to buy it, but passed on the $1.99 price tag.
  2. They will occasionally go to see a prospect or friend's son/grandson, but most of their time is spent road tripping to either Tribe games or Irish games. DeMatha looks loaded. Oscar Smith has a new coach this year. I know him pretty well as he coached at my alma mater and used to frequent one of my former workplaces. He is a helluva coach and has won state titles before (Phoebus with Tahj Boyd of Clemson fame). Bishop Gorman versus Cedar Hill looks like a helluva game. Tate Martell has impressed me since he was a freshman. Gorman has a factory out here. There first four games are murderer's row though.
  3. Can't get it to post normal size. The fact it has a noose around its neck is so fitting.
  4. Tried the newly opened and heavily hyped The Halal Guys last week. Addicting white sauce and a decent spot that I will have to try again sometime in the future. Hitting up The Hummus Factory soon as well. Both getting lots of ink. Both have their roots in the food truck business.
  5. Not much of a meat (beef) eater here. Go for either happy hour. Get the crabcake and the clams (either in wine broth or with linguine). Will have to trust your review on the steaks.
  6. Herbs and Rye was recently named best high-volume cocktail bar in America. A huge honor bestowed on them which is prominently displayed at the bar.
  7. Final Tally: Correctly picked 3 of the 10 gold medalists and hedge one other finalist. Brazilian in lightweight at over 11/1 was the big hit. +23.2 units for the tournament. US ended up with one silver and bronze in the men and one gold in the women's.
  8. One more bonus bet I forgot to put but one that is one of my bigger bets of the tournament. I mentioned how corrupt this event is supposed to be and if you follow amateur boxing you know that often in the Olympics the host nation gets absolute gifts (Roy Jones and Kenny Egan won't argue this point). While Brazil is not a boxing powerhouse by any means, they do have one pretty decent boxer. At lightweight Robson Conceicao is currently 5th in the world and seeded 4th in the competition. He'll have to get by some decent boxers including a potential semifinal matchup with Alvarez of Cuba. But if you are a conspiracy theorist, and amateur boxing is certainly the place to be one, Conceicao is sitting at a juicy price of +1140. Don't be surprised if he starts getting dodgy decision after dodgy decision and ends up on the podium with gold. Bet: Robson Conceicao at +1140 (2.5 units) Conceicao won the Gold yesterday. +28.5 units.
  9. Tischenko won gold in the Heavyweight division today. Although it was a Roy Jones Jr.-like robbery of Levit apparently. Huge upset in women's boxing as Katie Taylor lost a disputed decision. Conceicao of Brazil upset the Cuban and is in the finals, btw.
  10. 7. Double Down Saloon 6. Frankie's Tiki Room 5. Downtown Cocktail Room 4. Oak and Ivy 3. Rebel Republic 2. Velveteen Rabbit 1. Herbs and Rye Honorable Mnetion: Crown and Anchor Stage Door Casino Peppermill
  11. Marlins 1/2 game up on wild card with 48 to go. Fernandez and Conley were #1 and #2 draft picks in same year for Fish.
  12. US is 6-1 so far with only Conwell losing. Road gets a lot tougher here on out though. Nico Hernandez is in the semis and will be the first American medalist since 2008. Last one was a kid named Deontay Wilder.
  13. Went to Claim Jumper once. Utterly mediocre. Felt it was a slightly upscale Marie Callender's. Doesn't help there are about 20 better restaurants within a stone's throw of the Summerlin location. Mr Lucky's may have been good 20 years ago. Now every single employee at the HRH is pissed off and trying to relive the glory days of the mid-90s. Last time I was there walked out from the counter because the service was so bad.
  14. A few pics of myself from the old rx days. I'm an utterly average white guy at best. Add a few years and pounds for present day GD.
  15. Tried Violette's place. Not good at all. Cyndy was there and was nice enough but the food was well below average.

  17. Donuts, No I havent. Saw they recently were bestowed an award by Bon Apetit. The critics I respect speak glowingly of them.
  18. I don't do steak a whole lot so never been to Echo and Rig. Read mixed reviews on it. The Mexican joint, Leone Cafe, and the wine bar are the top choices for me in the cursed Tivoli Village. Nattaya's is good. I prefer Weera and Chada for my Thai fix though. Le Thai downtown is surprisingly good as well. Unless they have recently lost it, every time I've been to Carson Kitchen I have had a cocktail or two. Last time I was there was February though I believe.
  19. Would prefer the thread stay on topic, Makes no difference to me who posts. Happy hour definitely the play at Herbs and Rye. Otherwise, it is a bit pricey. Emily one of the best bartenders in the country if she is working.
  20. Ruenroeng became the last pro eliminated when he was stopped in the second round. None of the professionals made it to the quarters. Charles Conwell became the first American to lose.
  21. Eat and Carson Kitchen are both downtown. One block from each other. Weera Thai and Herbs and Rye a stone's throw from the Strip on Sahara. Other three are on West side of town. There are some good to great restaurants on the Strip, but I try to stay away from that shit-show and dollar for dollar the value is rarely there compared to more out of the way places.
  22. Used to like Lindo Michoacan a lot, but make it a habit not to venture to the East side of town whenever possible.
  23. Capos far inferior to Ferraro's. It's more of a gimmicky restaurant. Tacos el Gordo good joint, but both places can have ridiculously long lines. Several food trucks and other taco places on east Charleston close enough in quality that the wait not worth it.
