  1. yes they are. has zero effect on our lives. your whole two asterisks before thread topic is much more disconcerting. -GD
  2. What should you do? He plays rap music at a higher volume. Clearly he is mentally challenged, so I don't think beating him up would be appropriate. At least yet. I'm kind of tired of Outkast's "Hey ya".
  3. hit up the copper penny. nice spot on the main drag. seahawks have an admirable loyal following for hoops.
  4. Have been a day one fan (witness my expansion draft party circa 1992). Incredible that they are in contention for the playoffs with this bunch. Dee Gordon 80-game suspension, Stanton batting around .230. No above average MLB pitching beyond Fernandez. Yet, here they are leading for the wild card spot. Let's go Fish!!!
  5. That will do for now King Revolver. I will have a word with the big guy in Heaven on your behalf.
  6. Actually agree with Boat. Personally pay him little mind or care. If he was ignored by those who chime in, he would dissipate. Feed the flames.
  7. Bert Emanuel rule. Still pissed about that. Bucs got screwed for Greatest Show on Turf.
  8. In Canada Moosehead is a beer. In Minnesota it is a misdemeanor.
  9. Finished watching the Town Hall on tape. My impression as well was that Weld was more well spoken than Johnson. Seems a dog and pony show and while I will likely vote Libertarian again, I would personally prefer the Party stick to their principals instead of vote pandering. Even if it means continued irrelevancy.
  10. Flags of our Fathers. Seriouisly well done there.
  11. Takeaways from day 1: Hassan N'Dam J'kam, a professional former middleweight champ, lost his 1st round match to a Brazilian. Both Americans won and looked good (Hernandez and Balderas). They have much stiffer competition coming up though.
  12. Always hated that fucker cuz I would pick him up or draft him in fantasy football. The only Patriot TE in the world that could underproduce.
  13. That's is all for the lengthy writeup. Let the games begin!
  14. One more bonus bet I forgot to put but one that is one of my bigger bets of the tournament. I mentioned how corrupt this event is supposed to be and if you follow amateur boxing you know that often in the Olympics the host nation gets absolute gifts (Roy Jones and Kenny Egan won't argue this point). While Brazil is not a boxing powerhouse by any means, they do have one pretty decent boxer. At lightweight Robson Conceicao is currently 5th in the world and seeded 4th in the competition. He'll have to get by some decent boxers including a potential semifinal matchup with Alvarez of Cuba. But if you are a conspiracy theorist, and amateur boxing is certainly the place to be one, Conceicao is sitting at a juicy price of +1140. Don't be surprised if he starts getting dodgy decision after dodgy decision and ends up on the podium with gold. Bet: Robson Conceicao at +1140 (2.5 units)
  15. Super Heavyweights (+91kgs) The United States Darmani Rock was supposed to be here, but a KTFO in the Olympic Trials sent him to the pro ranks and the Stars and Stripes without any representatives in either heavyweight class. France's Tony "The Artist" Yoka is the current #1 and +315 on the board. Joe Joyce (+370) is hoping he can be this year's Joshua, but I think he'll fall short. There is a decent Cuban (Pero) and a Croat (Hrgovic) in the smallish field, but the class of the field in my eyes is Ivan Dychko of Kazakhstan). Dychko fell short last time, but the rangy Kazakh won't be an easy bout for anyone. Bet: Dychko +428
  16. Heavyweights (91kg) Two big boys will make a dream final here if Evgeny Tischenko of Russia +293 and Erislandy Savon of Cuba +212 can navigate through a veteran field including Clemente Russo of Italy, Vassily Levit of Kazakhstand, and Abdulkadir Abdullayev of Azerbaijan. Savon was robbed in the last Olympics when he lost a first-round hometown decision to current Heavyweight Champ Anthony Joshua. Methinks the judges will award him doing the job last time and insure he coasts to a gold in Rio. It may not matter as the seasoned Savon has the pedigree and the chops to win on his own. Bet: Savon +212 (double play)
  17. Light Heavyweight (81kg) Cuba's Julio La Cruz is the biggest chalk in the men's boxing draw and at -125 is hard to back. Joe Ward of Ireland has fallen short every time he's faced La Cruz and is +522 for gold. Niyazymbetov of Kazakhstan and Rasulov of Uzbekistan loom large on the other side of the draw. Something tells me AIBA gives one or both some gift decisions. Bet: Ward +522 and Rasulov +824
  18. Middleweight (75kg) If the rumors are true and Michael O'Reilly is sent hom then this blows open the bottom half of the draw. Arlen Lopez of Cuba is the deserved favortie at +222. Marlo Delgado of Ecuador is +656 and that South American connection give this one a funny smell. Bektemir Melikuziev of Uzbekistan is the clear #2 here and at +370 he has a clear path to the finals. Bet: Melikuziev +370 (hedge in finals if he faces Lopez or Delgado).
  19. Welterweight (69kg) Four boxers stand out in this division. Experienced Roniel Iglesias of Cuba (+557), Parviz Baghirov of Azerbaijan (+526), Daniyar Yeleussinov of Kazakhstan (+291), and Mohammed Rabii of Morocco (+565). All four have first round byes and should be fresher than their opponents, and all four could likely make the semifinals. After that it will be up to who the corrupt judges deem their favorite. I'll go with the classic boxer in Iglesias although I have a sneaking suspicion that the Kazakhs may have already bought this one. Bet: Iglesias +557, Yeleussinov +291 (1/2 bet)
  20. Light Welterweight (64kg) This should be a three-horse race between Yasnier Toledo of Cuba (+264), Vitaly Dunaytsev of Russia (+347) and Wuttichai Masuk of Thailand (+797). The Cuban and Russian should be headed for a finals clash, however Masuk has been ranked #1 in the world and the juicy price is too much to pass up. Bet: Masuk +797
  21. Lightweight (60kg) Cuba's Lazaro Alvarez is the favorite at +231 and Azerbaijan's Albert Selimov is the #2 seed at +313. There are a few other dangerous boxers inculding a Mongolian with a lot of vowels in his name +1080 (Otgondalal Dorjnyambuu). However, I see the top two seeds here running through the field for a face off in the finals. This could be one of the best matches and a decider of the Val Barker trophy. Selimov just impresses me a bit more. Bet: Albert Selimov +313
  22. Bantamweight (56kg) The US has their best shot at gold here with youngster Shakur Stevenson. (Yes he was named after Tupac). Stevenson will have to beat several world ranked opponents just to get to the finals including Russian Vladimir Nikitin and #1 ranked Michael Conlan of Ireland. Stevenson is at +336, Conlan at +434. The other side of the bracket has talented Cuban Robeisy Ramirez +292 and dangerous Murdjon Akhmadaliev of Uzbekistan +804. I have a feeling Stevenson will get robbed since the US boxing association is not known for their brown bag deliveries. Bet: Ramirez +292 and Akhmadaliev +804. They could meet in the semis if they win out.
