  1. Flyweight (52kg) Elvin Mamishzada of Azerbaijan is the favorite in a weaker division. England's Muhammad Ali has the name and certainly will be the story for a while. Flissi of Algeria and Misha Aloian of Russia are the other two serious contenders. Aloian is probably past his prime in my eyes though. Cuba sends Yosbany Veitia who could make the finals but is not one of the headliners of the island nation's contingent. Something tells be Ceiber David Avila or Columbia is going to get a few gift decisions here. Bet: Mamishzada +304
  2. Light Flyweight (49kg) Cuban Joahnys Argilagos is the #1 seed and the chalk here. He is on the tougher side of the draw though with Rogen Ladon of the Phillipines or Paddy Barnes or Ireland set to face him in the semis. Vasilli Egorov of Russia is the #2 seed and has a decidely easier route to the finals. His odds of +506 are a bit juicy as well. I like Barnes to win Gold but not at the short price of +319. Bet: Egorov +506. With a hedge if he makes the finals.
  3. Amidst heavy rumors that this is going to be the most corrupt Olympic Boxing in history (that is saying something), as well as almost a total lack of TV coverage, the fights kick off Saturday, April 6. Supposedly Irish middleweight Michael O'Reilly has failed a drug test and will be suspended. Right now he is -1000 to NOT win gold. That should be a winner by morning. I will give a quick breakdown division by division.

  6. My favorite bar is not too far down the street from Palace Station on Sahara. Great bar in horrible neighborhood. (In fact, Herbs and Rye is not far from there either- so two of my favorite bars). Bar has been robbed twice in last 6 months. Any time after 8pm, you have to be buzzed in and show ID now. I was very lucky to not be present during one of the robberies as I would have 100% been there at that time if not for an outo of the ordinary work commitment. I've hit four royals at the bar as well and believe me, when you say head on a swivel, that describes me going in and out of it.
  7. Will have town meeting on CNN tonight, 9pm eastern.
  8. Haven't tried Little Tony's yet. Heard good things though. The old greaseboards are coming down soon in the sportsbook as are the garden rooms of the hotel. Palace Station pretty depressing place with sketchy clientele in a sketchy area. You could even hear the depression in Fish's voice.
  9. Some top-notch suggestions in here. Adding In Bruges to my honorable mention list. Some of the best dialogue in a movie ever. If you like that, The Guard is another similar movie starring the criminally underrated Brendan Gleeson.
  10. Milos lunch special is outstanding. I think it is around $30 now though. DB Brasserie in Venetian also has a three-course around $30 lunch that has a fish option. Off-strip highly recommend Other Mama, Hiroyoshi Sushi, and Japaneiro. They tend to be more on the raw/sushi dishes but the cooked stuff can be just as sublime. Obviously seafood is going to carry a premium here since, you know, we are in the desert.

  12. Herbs ans Rye one of my favorite places in the city. Steaks definitely pricey there but half-off for both happy hours ( I believe 5p to 8p and 12a to 2a). Couple other happy hour menu items like clams and linguini are incredible too.
  13. 15. Never heard of you Nowinski. Good luck to you.
  16. Just as guilty as anyone here. Witnesses some embarrassment the last few nights. Nothing wrong with it, but when you wake up and realize what you posted. Not nearly as smart as you thought you were the night before.
  17. Used to see Boogie Nights about 100 times in the early 2000s at CC. Lived right behind there when I worked on Strip. Made me hate KC and the Sunshine Band. Casino Royale and original O'Shea's far easier pickup spots for desperate Midwestern chicks back then. Even my resume impressed them, that and a whopped at the O'Shea Burger King.
  18. The latest craze for me. Replacing limoncello days and always a break from Sambuca. Licorice. I love licorice.
  19. Damn good comparison with Sandler. That guy, holy fuck, is not funny. Like Rob Schneider not funny. Just my humble opinion. Still convinced the whole Adam Sandler movie thing is an inside joke in Hollywood. Let's make the worst possible movie to see how stupid the public is and buys it. Only explanation for that whole Julie/Julia movie-thing he did.
  20. I truly don't get Kevin Hart. Less funny than a part-time employee of mine. Too each his own. I'm convinced he wore out the Hollywood casting couch.
  21. Damn right I need an avatar. I'll figure it out one day. And maron, already admitted I'm brother #1 long ago. No argument there, big reason I jumped back into forum fray. Enjoy lots of your posts though, you have a bit of intellect that is sometimes in absentia.
  22. There are a lot of mental illnesses on these forums. and grammar errors too.
  23. Kevin Hart is the black Dane Cook. I just don't get him. And Drake, honestly I'm perplexed by everything him.
  24. Good job stepping your game up past few days fellows. Psychiatrists should be lining up for rakeback on these forums. Keep up the good work. We walk among you.
