Just a piece of advice going forward....I'm not sure if you are a 'donation' guy to church, foundations, etc.....instead of giving cash, give them appreciated stock. You gift them shares of stock, you don't pay the tax on the gain and then they sell it on their side. I typically do this with church at the end of each year. Don't do it on any losing stocks (no benefit) but something to consider going forward if that's something you do.

I help a lot of farmers and tell them to gift grain at the end of each year rather than writing the check. They give the same amount but saves them self-employment and income tax.

Good tip but don't you need a "donor advised fund" or someting of the like to do that?  Also, most of my ST trades are shit cos/penny stocks where I'm riding the wave and then get paper hands and sell.  I haven't been selling my AAPL, MSFT or AMZN that I hold LT.

Good problem to have if you’re paying tax

True.  Not complaining about making money.  Paying though is going to be rough since quite a bit was ST due to day trading.  My tax guy Mr. Cohen is going to earn his overpriced fees preparing my returns this year.

  3. As someone who hires (or oversees the folks who report to me hiring) multiple people a year I can say a fancy resume isn't needed.

    For me:

    1) clarity - needs to be easy to the read and not too busy

    2) relevant experience - if you don't have experience for what I'm hiring for you go in the rejected pile

Most hiring managers don't have time to fully real all resumes. I skim and if your shit is sloppy or you of I can't quickly see you have the experience I'm looking for I'm moving on to the next one.

I wasn’t even the biggest player.  Not even close.  One guy made like 10 million in 3 years and disappeared. (Poster Waterman).  Another guy, poster Flerve, was raided by state gaming agents (Minnesota I think) and had all his PCs confiscated and his bank accounts frozen.  Because of all the wire transfers (Wells Fargo outed him) in and out of his accounts they thought he was actually operating a casino from his home.  They never charged him though and returned all his stuff 2 years to the day later as required by law.

Poster Questionable was part of this group and he was only 16 years old.  He participated in that great roulette promo  (Casino on net 007 promo sept 2001) on our team and got his share of the 1.65 million we made off that.  He took his winnings and paid off his parents debt, bought himself a new Mustang and then bought another forum called Fatbonus which was part of FatWallet at the time.  That quickly failed as we went totally private soon after.  Not sure what happened to him but he left the scene.

one guy, poster Howsafeareyou, bought a new viper, expensive jewelry and basically spent a ton of money carelessly.  I later heard he got busted for tax evasion.

another guy out of Sarasota (forget the poster name) told me he buried chock full of nuts coffee cans full of 100s all over his property.

Poster Bing from Cali found a flaw in a casino program that was very streaky and he took them for millions.  We coined the term “Bing Betting” which later evolved into the do or die style of bonus whoring that I later brought to the forums. We kept in touch for a long time but we haven’t spoken for 5-6 years.

I poured a large portion of my earnings into real estate but not good timing as the market crashed not long after.

I’m sure I can remember more stories but those stand out to me.

Dope stories.  You should check out this book. One of my favorites that I've read in the past year:

Some are probably sick of hearing this story but here we go:

started my bonus career in late 1997 early 1998 when Golden Palace sent me an offer for 20% bonus on my deposit.  The rollover was 1x deposit + bonus.  I didn't trust them so I started with a $20 deposit.  Cashed out a $5 winner and they credited my 20 back to my CC and sent me a money order for my $5 winnings (I still have that MO).  These 20% bonuses were twice weekly so next I did $100, then $1000, and after a while I was doing 10k deposits twice weekly.  I didn't even have 10k, but it went on my card and they reversed the charge on cashout so I never really saw a bill. This went on for some time as I built up my roll.

I hustled every bonus I could find, turning my little hobby into a lucrative career.  I formed a private gambling group with other pioneers in the bonus world where we shared key information on where to play and who was paying, etc.  This group paid the UF director of computer sciences to program a gambling bot that can play perfect strategy BJ and video poker.  We hit +EV blackjack games on Unified Gaming's software that was paying .22% of wagers. With the use of this bot I was also able to gamble for 32 different identities splitting the profits with each one.  I had the bot running 24/7 on 6-7 different machines.  Casino ON Net had monthly wagering bonuses for the most wagers with a top prize of 10k.  My accounts took down about 5-6 of the top 10 prizes every month for a couple years.  At the time I was printing money to the tune of 60-80k per month.

After the dumb UIGEA thing that put the brakes on funding casinos, I slowed down and eventually moved on to online sportsbooks.  That is when I joined TheRX in 2005ish.  From there I did poker and sports.  The days of easy money was gone but I dabbled in it for extra cash for several years.  Now I am strictly playing cryptos and the stock market.

That's awesome! How did you protect yourself from the UF CS guy not stealing your idea with the bot he created for you?

I have a very modest salary.  The only reason I have money is due to whoring casino bonuses from 1998-2006

Tell us some stories about that.  How much did you make.  How wild was that?

I remember seeing you post at Rx about that shit but I was too dumb/young to realize that's where the money was rather than doing YOLOs on shitty Bucsfan baseball plays.

Hanging in there!...nothing exciting to report.    You?? Good to see you for your once in a blue moon appearance!!!  I just took a peak via Google and found a potential issue.  https://www.coindesk.com/bittrex-to-delist-privacy-coins-monero-dash-and-zcash

Hope you are well as well!  What’s been going on with you?

I'm good.  I miss all my forum friends but I more or less retired from compulsive gambling on sports.  If I'm posting on forums too much it brings back that itch, which I can't do with 2 kids now.  Though sweating stocks and crypto has replaced that, but at least I can write off my losses so i'm only losing 70 cents rather than a dollar ? (I don't have losses though since stonks only go up)
