I'm trying to re-discover some of the more ostentatious ones, but this is what you would normally see at one of these gatherings: One nine-course menu included oyster cocktail, cream of chicken soup, boiled snapper, fillet of beef with mushrooms, roast chicken, roast suckling pig, shrimp salad, steamed fruit pudding with brandy sauce, assorted cakes, cheese and ice cream followed by coffee and cigars.

No bias here. Just simply pointed out that the murder rate was higher than than it is now. It's a common thing among humans. We look at the past with rose colored glasses, especially as we get older.

There was probably a LOT more unreported crime back then actually due to some of the attitudes of the time. Immigrants fresh off the boat didn't really go to the police with issues

Also you should look and see the states with the highest murder rates. The relatively sparsely populated Deep South and Alaska lead the way

Everyone knows Ray lol. He's the public face of BM in a lot of ways and does a lot of their media. I've never done media for BM, but I have for BOL and another book. Particularly for Esports and political betting. If you want to ascertain whether or not I work for BM, I can send you a digital paystub as long as it stays between us. There's a reason I don't respond to Monkey anymore and just have him on auto ignore. I asked someone at one of the big sportsbooks I work for about him. This person called him a "loudmouth chihuahua" and told me not to bother with him. Talks a big game but rarely backs anything up, so I found the comparison apt.
