KingRevolver
...how the fuck do you prevent flare-ups? Just clean the grill and use some foil? Any other good tips? They burn the fuckin' steak. That may be OK at Brock's house, but not here. Shit pisses me off.

Guest ChrisHarvard
If you're using white hot coals and eating your steak rare like you should be, it's only on the grill for 8 minutes anyways.

po69
Put the steak in the microwave for about 10 seconds before you put it on the grill. Microwave cooks from the inside out and then you don't have to have it on the grill very long to cook the outside,

Brick
coat in olive oil with a heavy layer of salt on outside....1.5-2 inch thinck ribeye do 4 mins flip, 4 mins, flip, 4 mins flip 4 mins and done. do the first 2 4 min segments with burners on high, the second two sets with burners on medium. If the flare ups keep happening just blow them out or move the pieces of meat away from the "hot spots"

Is just an unhealthy way to be cooking a meal, period. Not a good advice at all.

If the flare ups keep happening just blow them out or move the pieces of meat away from the "hot spots" I actually do coat them with a little bit of olive oil and salt/pepper. But, 16 minutes of grilling is too much, pal. You're Brock Landering the steak if you do that... I do-- 2.5 minutes, then turn it 90 degrees (same side) for another 2.5... then FLIP it over for 2.5 minutes, and then turn it again for 2.5 minutes. Ten minutes tops. Comes out medium.
