Cop
The Washington Post released the latest salvo in the media’s effort to take down President Donald Trump on Wednesday: a joke made last year by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin pays Trump. The joke occurred during a private conversation involving the House Republican leadership. The conversation was recorded. The exchange — from the transcript alone, since the Post has not made the audio available — is as follows: McCarthy: The Russians hacked the DNC and got the opp [sic] research that they had on Trump. McCarthy: laughs [Crosstalk] Ryan: The Russian’s [sic] hacked the DNC… McHenry: …to get oppo… Ryan: …on Trump and like delivered it to…to who? [unintelligible] McCarthy: There’s…there’s two people, I think, Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump…[laughter]…swear to God. Ryan: This is an off the record…[laughter]…NO LEAKS…[laughter]…alright?! [Laughter] Ryan: This is how we know we’re a real family here. The full context of the conversation is unclear, but the House leadership appeared to be discussing the crisis in the Ukraine, and Russian efforts to spread disinformation there. The apparent target of the joke is Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), whom the Post describes uncharitably as “a fervent defender of Putin and Russia.” The Post‘s Adam Entous does not explain why he did not post the audio of the conversation, but two reasons seem possible: one, the laughter on the audio would underline the fact that McCarthy’s comments were intended to be humorous; two, the volume of different voices might reveal who had made, and leaked, the recording. advertisement Though it is obvious from the transcript alone that the remark is a joke, the Post treats it as a serious scoop, claiming in the first paragraph that McCarthy “made a politically explosive assertion in a private conversation on Capitol Hill with his fellow GOP leaders.” Later, the Post adds: “It is difficult to tell from the recording the extent to which the remarks were meant to be taken literally.” No, it is not. RDTrains
Love that GOP sense of humor!!! One thing you forgot to mention Copper. When first confronted it was deny, deny, deny. When they found out it was recorded they indicated it was just a joke. Winning!
RDTrains
The Post reported that Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., stopped the conversation immediately and made the GOP members present swear to secrecy. “No leaks,” Ryan said. “This is how we know we’re a real family here.” Rep. Steve Scalise, the majority whip, chimed in: “That’s how you know that we’re tight.” In a tweet Wednesday, Ryan spokesman Brendan Buck said McCarthy “was just kidding” and that “no one took it seriously.” The Post reported that Buck was tight-lipped when asked to comment. “That never happened,” Buck said. However, once Buck was informed “that The Post would cite a recording of the exchange,” the paper noted, Buck changed his tune.

LCD
Fake libtard news: WASHINGTON — President Trump told Russian officials in the Oval Office this month that firing the F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, had relieved “great pressure” on him, according to a document summarizing the meeting. “I just fired the head of the F.B.I. He was crazy, a real nut job,” Mr. Trump said, according to the document, which was read to The New York Times by an American official. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.” Mr. Trump added, “I’m not under investigation.”

Guest boatboatboat
Rut Roh Two more bombshell reports published Friday afternoon delivered a one-two punch to the Trump White House regarding the investigation into its potential ties to Russia, capping off a week where each day dealt a fresh blockbuster blow to the administration. In one story, the Washington Post reported that a law enforcement Russia probe has identified a current adviser to the president as a “person of interest,” while a New York Times story reported that the commander in chief told visiting Russian officials that the firing of “nut job” FBI Director James Comey had taken a weight off his shoulders.“I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job,” President Trump said in a meeting with Russian officials last week, according to the Times report on a document summarizing the meeting. “I faced great pressure because of Russia. That’s taken off.”Trump reportedly added that he wasn’t under investigation, which is potentially untrue, since the president may not know the extent or specifics of the probe. The White House did not dispute the Times reporting on Trump’s quote

LCD
It's not a big deal but don't attack the President who was tall and leans down for a medal and say he's bowing down to Arabs and then do the same fucking thing when you're President. Just hypocrisy like the golf attack bullshit. Also the word is that the story that Kushner is the voice of reason is apparently not true. He's the one who is the most adamant about squelching the investigation. Even Bannon was worried about his repeated meetings with the Russian ambassador. Flynn cracks then it's bad news for the liberal. They might try to squelch the investigation of Kushner by saying that Mueller's law firm has represented Kushner and thus he might have to recuse himself from investigating Kushner and also Ivanka and Manafort (all clients of WilmerHale), Unless the Justice Dept gives a waiver.
