asparagus I didn't trim the ends and was woody (tough as hell)

 

Steak..........it was a brave bull, had a big ole piece of gristle muscle that ran right through the center

Same thing happened to me last time.

 

Bought a Churrasco but didnt marinate it to tenderize it and was chewy... not worth the $ if it turns out like that....

 

The chef at the local Argentinian asado place explained me how he does it, he marinates it for 22 fuckin days
