DISCOVER CASHBACK MATCH CARD

Full Review

If you’ve been shopping around for a new credit card with truly amazing cash back rewards, you’re in luck, because the Discover it® - Cashback Match™ just seriously upped its game.

In fact, the Discover it card now offers the highest cashback reward available today. At up to 10% cash back the first year you’re a cardmember, no other cashback card even comes close.

What are the perks?

The Discover it® - Cashback Match™ is one of the highest paying cash back credit cards in the market that charges no annual fee. What makes this card special is that Discover is the only card that will match you dollar-for-dollar at the end of your first year. This means if you earn $300, Discover will automatically double it to $600.

Discover really makes it easy to rack up your cash back rewards. With an outrageous 5% cash back in popular spending categories that rotate every quarter (up to the quarterly maximum - $1,500 - then 1% cash back), it’s like earning 10% cash back when Discover matches you! These categories rotate every quarter, and include places you shop at everyday like gas stations, Amazon.com, restaurants, wholesale clubs and more. You’ll get 1% cash back on all other purchases.

The amazing cash back opportunities aren’t all this card has to offer. It has a respectably long 14-month 0% intro APR for both purchases and balance transfers. This means you could buy that TV you’ve been eyeing, couch, or go on your dream vacation without paying any interest until September 2018 (and don’t forget about all the cash back you’ll be getting for these purchases). After the promotional rate expires, the rate changes to their standard variable APR, which is currently 11.99% – 23.99%.

Redeeming your cashback rewards is super easy. You can apply your cash to your Discover account, paying off any outstanding balance you may have. Or you can redeem your cash back for gift cards, an electronic deposit into an account of your choice, a payment to select online retailers or as a donation to a charity. Best of all, you can redeem your cash back for any amount at any time and your cash back never expires.

What are the drawbacks?

While the cash back rewards opportunities are unparalleled, the Discover it® - Cashback Match™ does not offer a signup bonus.

A good alternative is the Chase Freedom®, which is offering a $150 bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening. Their cash back rewards setup is similar to the Discover it® - Cashback Match™, with 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in bonus categories each quarter you activate, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. The big difference is Chase does not match your cash back at the end of the first year like Discover. This means you could actually earn more with Discover than Chase’s $150 signup bonus.

Should You Apply for the Discover it® - Cashback Match™?

The Discover it® - Cashback Match™ is one of the highest paying cash back credit cards in the market right now. If you’re looking for a card where you could easily rack up cash back rewards, pay 0% interest for 14 months, with no annual fee, the Discover it® - Cashback Match™ is an excellent choice for you.

Don't dismiss the up front 3% balance transfer transaction fee ( some bank card issuers charge 5% and some have promos for only 1-2% transaction fee).

Beats a bank loan but solely use that credit card for the balance transfer purpose and don't ever buy anything with it as you'll have interest at

a high rate charged to you for the life of the balance transfer loan ( till you pay it off ).  Pay off the initial transaction fee and then pay the monthly

minimum which is usually around 1% each month and then pay it off at the end.

Balance transfers can be EV. Imagine SBG offers you a 100% bonus 2x roll but you don’t have 5k available at that moment.

If the transfer fee is 1% it becomes a no brainer.

BAUS

:lol

If I could get my SBG account address updated, I could deposit Capital One and transfer to Discover. Easy to see how BAUS is a plus EV sports bettor.
