HinesWard86
Thanks, Hines. That’s great to know. I’m gonna check it out. I prefer Malbec and Temparanillo, but I can drink anything red. Don't know what's been posted already, but here's a list of what I like. Not a sommelier or a cicerone, but I did spend some time in Napa/Sonoma and made a real effort to learn wine when I was in California. Wine you can find in most stores for $15 or less:Alamos MalbecApothic RedMenage a Trois Wine you can find online for $15 or less:Chateau La Tuliere Du PuyVitiano Rosso Red Blend
rdalert447
Nice list, Hines. Alamos was definitely covered here. Jasson suggested their (slightly more expensive) purple label. Was very good, as was the white label.
rdalert447
I haven’t tried either of those online wines you named. I will now though.
Boatboatboat
Do any of you decant or aerate your reds?I do not.But in the limited reading i have done some say it really helps an otherwise weak ,young red.
rdalert447
I do not but I like to pour it into a carafe. Not so much for taste but aesthetics

HinesWard86
I haven’t tried either of those online wines you named. I will now though. Total Wine has both the online ones I listed. Tbh, your best bet is probably just to find one you like there and then slowly branch out to similar ones.

loman
Here are some reasonable priced wines that I think are bargains. Calicanto - Red Blend from Maipo Valley in Chile Los Olivos- Cab, Merlot blend from Spain. Decoy- Calf Cab Clos De Los Siete- Blend from Mendoza Arg Meiomi - Calf Pinot Noir All of these should be around 20 bucks.

shooterman
Just go get yourself some "Cooper & Thief" . It's a Cabernet blend that is awesome. I hardly ever use the word awesome either, unlike most of the monks that should be using "very good or above average". $27 a bottle. Actually it's so good you probably won't be able to find any. rdalert447
Sent my wife into Publix to pick up a couple bottles. She came out with a Sangria that was 10% ABV and a Red that was 8%. She doesn’t understand why I’m not happy.
shooterman
I think I would send my girl in to buy a shotgun before I would let her pick the wine...
