drnkyourmlkshk1
Is there a single team currently constructed that you'd label as clearly better than the current free agent list? Rotation 1. Darvish2. Arrietta3. Cobb4. Lynn5. Cashner/garcia BullpenWatson VargasRosenthalHolland Lineup1. Revere/gomez-CF2. Neil Walker/eduardo Nunez-2b3. Hosmer-1b/logan morrison-1b4. Jd martinez-LF5. Moustakis-3b6. Carlos Gonzales/micheal Saunders RF7. Werth/Plouffe/Duda-DH8. Lucroy-C9. Escobar-SS Bench-Bautista alvarez bourjas I cant even make rsw numbers yet. Crazy stuff. Other than bullpens there is alot of incomplete teams.
Hangover
They all want long big money contracts. The only player that should be getting anything over 4+ years is Hosmer because he is not one-dimensional....excellent hitting and defense at age 28. The rest of the guys are too old and/or extremely injury prone...bullpens are so random year to year that i would never give them big money either... FairWarning
What the players should bargain for is arbitration after a year and FA after 3-4 years. Then they would get more money in their prime years. Owners finally getting smart and not paying dead money at the end of these contracts. The entire system needs to be redone.....currently it is rigged to basically get production for pennies from players early on in exchange for end of career donations. Now owners want it both ways... Carlos Correa was paid less than 1mil last year and Brian McCann got 17mil.,,,,absurd on so many levels lol

The real test will be when Bryce Harper is on the market next year. The team that gives him a 8-10 year contract is the real fool.

Probably wouldn’t do more than 4 though.

If they get more money young and hit free agency younger they are just going to demand more money anyway.

Yes in the AL so that the team has the option of shifting him to DH in future

They can demand all they want but if these unsigned FA's today were 4 years younger, most would be signed right now.
Sol Aristatel
No chance of the Snakes resigning JD? Damn good lineup with him in there. There is a chance. And its small. But only on a 1 year deal. Possibly 2 with an added player option. (per reliable local sources) Boston is really the only team offering a long term deal. And Scott Boras has balked at their offers. As a matter of fact, as a couple of days ago, no Boras free agents were signed. JD might say screw it and sign a one year deal with AZ for 20-25 million and retry next year. He apparently really likes it in AZ. AZ just can't offer him the big bucks right now long term. Not with Goldy needing to be paid soon and the Grienke contract. He’s winning Gold Gloves solely off reputation like Jeter. Average hitter coming off career year. It’s insane KC and SD have offered him around 7/140. He’s worth half that. azzah
MLB is like the American economy, the top 1% of the players have all the wealth, 99% are trying to compete at a professional level living on PB and J sandwiches. Should be revamped.

A 2-year $40 mil with a player option would be a pretty good contract. They would be the 2nd best team in the division and who knows from there. Hangover
Unreal...what metrics are SD lookin at that said lock a light hitting 1B in Petco up for 8 yrs. Decent glove?
