Marc Stein of the New York Times believes that the 76ers will be the frontrunners to sign LeBron James this summer.

Normally we'd ignore reports like these, but Stein is as credible as they come. Stein said the Sixers have "growing behind-the-scenes confidence" that they can land LeBron, and it's no secret that his best shot of reaching the Finals would be if he remains in the East -- this gives the 76ers a possible edge over the Rockets and Lakers. It's fun to speculate, but only James knows what he's going to do this summer.

Big time Liberal city, too.

Been saying that's an angle in all of this. Of course the main is them being set up for a beautiful 3yr+ run with LBJ.

Philadelphia is a liberal city? Had no clue.

I mean....seems like he's gonna want to be in a big time lib city so he can also do his activist stuff along with his hoopin' and what not.

LA offered him movies/entertainment along with hoops n a lib town but they don't have the team that Philly does, so the 6ers are not a bad consolation prize at all.

Should get another ring or two with Embiid/Simmons/etc..
