The problem is that a lot of the Far Left will actually think that.

Center-Right or Center-Left is a great spot to be, imo, but the Far Left is a shit ton worse than the Far Right and unfortunately we get stuck having to choose between Far Left or Far Right.

When the Left goes too hardcore on SJW crap or outlandish stuff like cheering for America to fail, the Right wins by default---and they know it. Now, that's great if you are hardcore conservative but also means they do not have to be held to account since they get power by default almost.

The way a Dem can beat Trump is to want America to succeed but do a subtle shift on messaging and not this hardcore Sleepy shit.

Agree the only rational position in be current political environment is near center. Both extremes are fucking bat shit crazy. Neither is “better” or “worse” than the other. Both are steaming piles of simple minded illogical whoreshit.

Yup.  Although, it's pretty incredible how many people who call themselves independents align themselves almost entirely with one party or the other.

It’s intellectual laziness. Easier to just accept one side and not bother thinking critically about each independent issue.

People that accept the same side on 100% of the issues aren’t thinking for themselves, they’re relying on others to tell them what side to be on. It’s literally impossible to judge each issue independently and be either left or right on every single one of them.

Unfortunately that’s the way most people think and it’s why I rarely discuss politics anymore. In my hometown many, many people used to just pull the straight Democrat lever without even knowing who some of the candidates were. That always struck me as a big part of the problem with our electoral system. I lean right on probably 80% of the issues but would never consider just voting straight ticket.

Agree on all counts.

Unfortunately , there are no democrats anymore, only leftists. The working class, pro union, strong america democrats of 30-40 years ago are dead and buried. The truth is both parties have moved left over time, the republicans took two steps left while the democrats ran off the edge.
