MonkeyF0cker
hey asshole, what is your fucking problem? I;m quoting a fucking article My problem is idiot players like you that defend a book freerolling other players. Let me know if you need me to spell it out for the fourth time. Shavencoinpurse
My problem is idiot players like you that defend a book freerolling other players. Let me know if you need me to spell it out for the fourth time. So you think the book did this on purpose as a free roll and the player honestly didn't realize he was taking an extreme advantage of a bad line? Not defending the book. Just seems pretty obvious that it was a mistake and the player took a shot. I would say the player is more in the wrong here. The book clearly offered a pretty decent alternative. MonkeyF0cker
The book can freeroll players in the future if it's allowed. It opens a whole can of worms. Whether or not the line was posted intentionally is inconsequential.

MonkeyF0cker
So are they better off doing what they are doing or setting some sort of framework to void regardless of outcome? They should get some competent linesmakers, pay them what they're worth, and honor the bets that they take.
Downsouth
They should get some competent linesmakers, pay them what they're worth, and honor the bets that they take. I agree but it was only 18 seconds. There are going to be mistakes when dealing with that amount of human and computer mixed together. Is it really an attempt to freeroll if it was only left for 18 seconds? And while I agree they should surely higher competent staff and pay to get such you and I both know that only way they are paying anything more money is if they find a way to pass it on to the consumer. theguesser
Totally with Monkey here. It's always amazed me over the years how many folks are willing to give books a pass with the bad line mistake excuse, when the books won't let a player cancel a bet that he made in error. Mistakes happen, pay for your mistake, and try to ensure they don't happen again. Nevada has this one right. Tickets go as written. Toss the player, after you pay him if you wish. MonkeyF0cker
If KR wants to bet My Boy Jack in the Kentucky Derby against a potential Triple Crown winner, is he a scammer if we bet and I give him 18/1?
WeinkeToWarrick
Book fucked up. Obviously. They owe him something. But guy should have known he wouldn’t get paid full amount on such a blatantly bad line. The book is a business that isn’t gonna just say okay to that. It sucks for all of us but we’re the minnows and they’re the whale and as much as we’d like to change that fact, they are the ones with the money and if they don’t wanna pay it what are you gonna do besides bitch and bet elsewhere

Sorry. Just because you're used to books fucking you over doesn't make it right. That's what regulation is for.

WeinkeToWarrick
Offshore has a million more betting options than Vegas cause they know they can say fuck off to a bad line accepted wager while Vegas can’t. So while Nevada honors all wagers and makes books pay it, you also don’t get as much to bet into because books have chosen not to invest enough into the staff required to double check everything. Books offer more but can freeroll you on bad lines offshore Books offer way less but can’t freeroll you on bad lines in Nevada cause they’re obligated to pay all accepted wagers Pros and cons to both but that’s how it is

I've never in my life accidentally said or typed 15,000,000 instead of 18. Or anything close to that differential.

This was a land based sportsbook, similar to Vegas. Guy had to walk up to the counter, similar to Vegas. NJ might not have rules yet for this, so this could be precedent setting, but they should have similar rules to Nevada. Do Vegas shops take Live betting? Haven't been there in over a decade, so I don't know.

Mostly on the apps now but some books you can live bet at the windows too.One of the saddest things I’ve seen were guys live betting the NBA games at the Tuscany. They were all clustered around the monitors off to the side watching the numbers and running up to the windows making $5-$10 bets screaming and swearing the whole time.
