Atlantic City Sportsbooks And Atmosphere?

I haven't been to ac in years, at least 7 years.

Are the sportsbooks and atmosphere really exciting there? Im thinking about making a trip there and staying for a few days. Also do you recommend staying on the boardwalk where you have all those casinos connected to one another or just head to borgata? I know when at borgata, you are pretty much closed off from every other casino unless you take the jitney or cab. Back then i go to borgata to play some poker. But what i didn't like was i had to take jitney if i had to go to the boardwalk. Thus the boardwalk, you have all the casinos right there.

Do people take jitney from the boardwalk to borgata or harrahs nowadays or do people take cabs?

So i could open online accounts in ac casinos? Could i actually open one at the cage or it has to be done online? The other thing is this. Can i use my data to do this or i have to use wifi? I don't really trust using public wifi but i did recall years ago borgata had free wifi in the poker room years ago.

But do the casinos on the boardwalk have free wifi or they do not? Can i just use my data instead to do everything?

I assume when its nfl season, its pretty big right?

I’ve only been, physically, to a few. I wouldn’t say they are popping off on a normal daily basis. Draft Kings, in Resorts, was popping off during the NBA finals. It would depend on what’s going on. Now Draft Kong’s isn’t that big compared to a cavernous book in ballys Wild West. Tropicana’s ok. I like ocean’s as well, a lot. I have no recollection of the hard rock.

I usually don’t venture to the inlet side, where borgata and golden nugget are. I always stay on the beach side of things. Don’t take the jitney. It’s up to you but I stay clear.

You could open online accounts in the casinos, but to me, it’s a pain in the ass. I did it once at Caesar’s. Save yourself a lot of time and just open them online, if you have a debit card/credit card. In addition, if you open in person, I don’t know if they’ll automatically add the bonus unless you are specifically clear, provide a promo code or whatever. You could open cage or online.

Most casinos have WiFi, but I never specifically turn it on/off and just use data.

Depending on your roll, you could be like a pig in mud signing up just for the bonuses. If you want to attach them all a roll of 4-5k is good. This is taking the max bonus offers. Don’t forget to hit the non ac books like sugar house, 888, and others, fan dual.

There’s a thread here, nj gambling, here at TGF, that’s somewhat informative plus I think I copied and pasted that hedge strategy thing in it.

Just search for New Jersey gambling and it should come up.

One thing people could miss is resorts has like 3 or so online books attached to it. Not physically like draft kings, but rather you could create online or the cage.

Draft Kings, Resorts Book, and bet stars

If you have a limited budget, before you go, i’d look at each site and write down each bonus, then pick from there. Even if you have a good roll it’s wise to do instead of just going/signing up quickly because you are physically in the casino.

Well the only reason back then i was at borgata mostly was to play some poker.  On the boardwalk, there were not much options for poker.  I know borgata is really the place to play poker even if you play 1/2nl.

I did like the boardwalk because all the casinos are there.  You walk from ballys to resorts etc.

What site can i check the odds for the sportsbooks?

Another thing i want to mention is this.  When you open accounts online, you can deposit cash at the sportsbook pretty easily and withdraw pretty easily?

Is there a reason to bet at the book as oppose to online?  Also i recalled if you bet at least 500 or 1000, they want your id correct?  Do they ever say okay you need to open an online account if you bet bigger amounts?

The sharpest looking book in AC is at Oceans.Very nice but its William Hill. Trop as well;

I kinda like Resorts (Draftkings) and Ballys wild west.(Caesars-drink tix there as well)

Hard Rock book leaves a lot to be desired. On the Marina Golden Nugget and Borgata are tiny.BetAmerica and MGM odds.I do like Harrahs a lot. When I was last

there they were expanding their book(end of March).I doubt its anything great but I like the property. As a side note,I hade winning tix at Ballys wild west and could not cash then at Harrahs.although both are Caesars properties.

Did they re-open Billy’s Racebook upstairs at Bally’s, by the restaurants? I always liked playing the horses there.

Nope....way too expensive is what I was told(To have a racebook) really sucks that you have to shoot over to Borgata.

As a side note I really have the itch to take a ride to AC either this Friday or next. You guys got me going

  • 4 months later...

Might make a trip there sometime soon.  So if you are using like a phone carrier for data like tmobile or similar, is that good enough to open accounts at all the new jersey online books?  Example draftkings, borgata online and all those sportsbooks?  Or do we have to use wifi?

Im thinking about staying at one of the ac sportsbooks for a night or 2 and open accounts online while in the hotel room.  Or you have to use wifi?  I would rather do this on a laptop as oppose to a phone.  Any experience on this?

Also how much can you bet on a game where they don't ask you for a card?  Example if you bet 3 games of 550 to win 500 at the book, do they ask?  I heard something like its 2k they ask but this is for your entire wagers that moment?
