Sorry but Baseball reference is not the easiest site to work with

First line is Adam Dunn's career stats

Second line is an awful swing for the fences player named Dave Kingman. Ironically, he also ended his career with the A's.

This is the type of player his systems despise but is forced to go with once his moves backfired.

What a mess in Oakland

Sorry about that...will have to summarize

Adam Dunn .237/.365/.856 with 460 HR 1311 BB and 2352 K's

Dave Kingman .236/.302/.780 with 442 HR 608 BB and 1816 K's

Dave Kingman was a player in the 70's and 80's in which you got home runs or strikeouts. The exact opposite type of player that Billy Beane's systems like. So whom does he take a flier on to right the ship in Oakland but probably the one player in the majors who is most like Dave Kingman, Adam DUnn

He walks a lot and he's always in the top in that category. His obp is probably in the top 25 in the league. He's far better than kingman!

Valid points about his OBP but it is a mirage. He is now in a field whose park factor is Horrid for the type of hitter he is. The amount of foul space near home plate is incredible. A game if played today at O.Co would have a park factor of 79 in which the league average is 100. There is less reason to walk him now..... on the rare occasions with two men on yes proceed with caution otherwise just pitch away and up high on him.

He just reminds me so much of Dave Kingman with his return to Oakland at the end of his career....
