theguesser
Not only has Drew fooled me, he's fooled his teammates who know him best. DREW BREESMICHAEL THOMAS FORGIVES QB... 'He Apologized, I Accept'746 446/4/2020 12:56 PM PTBREAKING NEWSGetty Composite12:55 PM PT -- Alvin Kamara says he spoke with Brees ... admitting he was "disappointed and hurt" by his QB's comments."We talked and i explained to him where he dropped the ball and he understood. But now it’s time for us to be part of the solution, not the problem.""We have to educate to progress."10:26 AM PT -- Michael Thomas is also forgiving Brees -- after the superstar WR was publicly critical of Drew's comments."One of my brothers made a public statement yesterday that I disagreed with. He apologized & I accept it because that’s what we are taught to do as Christians. Now back to the movement! #GeorgeFloyd.""Drew showed the ultimate move of a leader. He owned his mistake."That's Drew Brees' All-Pro teammate, Demario Davis, accepting the QB's apology Thursday ... saying he forgives the future Hall of Famer for his "insensitive" comments on kneeling protests. Play video content I FORGIVE HIMGet Up/ESPN"He moved the conversation back to the issue, which he should have spoke on the first time," Davis said on ESPN's "Get Up!", "that's the essence of a leader."Davis says the country as a whole can learn from Drew's situation ... adding, "When you see Drew Brees come out and say, 'You know what? I missed the point, but now I understand my mistake.'""And, 'now I'm going to do everything I can to learn from my black brothers. Learn from the black community and use the resources that I have to help the black community,' I think that's the model of leadership and that's what needs to be modeled and reflected throughout America."Davis went on to say he doesn't think this issue will linger in New Orleans' locker room ... because he says Brees' actions have always spoken differently than his Wednesday statements."I think everybody in the locker room knows the character of Drew Brees," Davis said. "And, Drew is a man of action far beyond words. And, that's what's needed in this moment to bring unity and fix this issue that's plagued our country for so long."It remains to be seen how the rest of the Saints' roster feels in wake of Brees' apology ... remember, everyone from Michael Thomas to Cam Jordan to Malcolm Jenkins ripped him Wednesday. In fact, Jenkins straight-up told Brees in an emotional video Wednesday night to "shut the f*ck up." theguesser
Ok. Nice job avoiding the analogy I gave. If something doesn't fit with your bullshit, just ignore it. Par for the course.Avoid it? I was laughing about how idiotic and irrelevant it was. Tried to do you a solid by not replying to it.
FairWarning
So you think Brees is lying when he says he regrets what he said originally, and that he's "only" apologizing for PR? That's a oretty low opinion you have of the man then. Do you think it's even remotely possible that he realizes what an ass he made of himself with his tone deaf comments, got plenty of feedback from Friends NFL and elsewhere, and realized he F'd up and is trying to amend that? I know in Cult Land, Never apologize, never regret, is the mantra. But in normal land, and before this idiot. apologizing, regretting, realizing you made a mistake, was common. That's what Brees did. Shannon Sharpe believes that, i'm sure he's not the only black athlete in that camp also.
tailsyoulose
One big indoctrination camp. Inmates running the asylum. Notice the bizzarro language reminiscent of communist reprogramming: "he understands his mistake now." "I forgive him". Cult.
theguesser
Shannon Sharpe believes that, i'm sure he's not the only black athlete in that camp also. Shannon ain't in the NO locker room and isn't close to Brees. As long as those guys believe he was genuine in his apology, and it appears that they do, that's all that's important. Shannon will file it away and if NO gets off to a slow start, he'll Skip.... Skip...... I told You Skip. And if they play well, it'll never be mentioned again. RaiseThese
Jaysus Christ Brees went from a dude that had a strong yet fairly tame opinion to literally getting on his knees to Tyrone in a damn short time frame.Dude got reprogrammed quickly after all the black athletes basically bullied him for having an opinion that wasnt the same as theirs Seriously what could have been some kind of common ground level of understanding turns into "How can I be the savior of the black race, the only nonwhite race that has ever been discriminated against in US history." I mean all of the fucking sudden he goes from “I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country, he said. "Is everything right with our country right now? No, it is not. We still have a long way to go. But I think what you do by standing there and showing respect to the flag with your hand over your heart, is it shows unity. It shows that we are all in this together, we can all do better and that we are all part of the solution.” To this I can never look at the guy same way again, wishy washy as fuck.Dude would have been better off not saying shit than being a total pussy about the whole thing. They now own his ass and he is in debt to them for being so forgiving of his transgressions. He wont be saying no or disagreeing to any black team members request again. The Cray Cray is strong in TGF. That's more believable than he realizes he made a mistake and is a good enough dude to apologize for it. Got it. Boatboatboat
Should have simply said I understand that Kapp in kneeling was not disrespecting the flag. He was calling attention to social injustice. I fully support those efforts and demonstrated that by kneeling arm in arm with my team mates over the past seasons before the national anthem. I personally choose to not kneel during the national anthem because I do think it shows disrespect for our flag. I support Kaps cause, I agree with Kapp and will show my support in ways I feel comfortable with

He was calling attention to social injustice. I fully support those efforts and demonstrated that by kneeling arm in arm with my team mates over the past seasons before the national anthem. I personally choose to not deal during the national anthem because I do think it shows disrespect for our flag. I support Kaps cause, I agree with Kapp and will show my support in ways I feel comfortable with I like this as a response They still would have given him shit though because he didnt submit. MadTiger
Brees could have said NOTHING. He could have simply let his original statement stand AS IS. Whether that statement was sincere then or not, really isn't the point. The point is, he chose the WRONG TIME to DOUBLE DOWN. The dealer showed BLACKjack. ;-/ Not going back and forth on this on. Boatboatboat
Sad in so many ways 4 years latter Full circle discussion is AGAIN is kneeling showing disrespect or is kneeling a simple way to peacefully protest. Hopefully someday very very soon, influential people from all walks of life will have open, honest conversations with ZERO concern over perception or public back lash. Until that happens. Rinse repeat.

MadTiger
Shit he was playing at the wrong casino if he was forced to make doubles and splits before the dealer revealed if had BJ or not.I was in such a zone with the analogy, game procedure just went out the window. ADDITION: For every comment I see about Kap kneeling, trace it back to WHY he was kneeling. Not why you THINK he was kneeling, but why he SAID he was kneeling. He has lied to you less than YOUR MOTHER. There is no reason not to take Kap at his word.
