if when this is over sweden has the most deaths per million in the world, it doesn't mean what the did was wrong at all.

Anyway, we'll never know for sure because over half the worlds countries have totally suspect data, either through deliberate actions or poor medical care and reporting systems.

good luck.

yeah I tried to make it a more fair/even bet

1 week would just me being a jerk. But with a month, at least some crazy outbreak could occur in Sweden or they might add a bunch of extra deaths from back testing deaths from march, april, may ect like we've seen NY do sometimes.

in the next week if Italy had zero deaths everyday.

Sweden would need a total of 1.205 people to die of covid, or 172 day to equal Italy's death rate. At their Peak in April 22 and 23 Sweden had 185 and 172 deaths respectively.

They haven't had over 100 since May 15.

Their daily new cases is going down very very slowly though. So who knows what can happen.

Some Italian Doctors are saying Covid clinically no longer exists in Italy.

https://nypost.com/2020/06/02/coronavirus-clinically-no-longer-exists-in-italy-doctor/

Coronavirus no longer “clinically” exists in Italy, which has seen the deadly disease lose potency, according to a doctor.

New infections and fatalities from COVID-19, the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, fell steadily in the country in May.

“In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” Alberto Zangrillo, head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, told RAI television. “The swabs that were performed over the last 10 days showed a viral load in quantitative terms that was absolutely infinitesimal compared to the ones carried out a month or two months ago.”

Sweden's Version of Dr. Fauci is admitting Sweden fucked this up, and he would do if differently if he could go back.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-52903717

Sweden has seen a far higher mortality rate than its nearest neighbours and its nationals are being barred from crossing their borders.
Dr Tegnell told Swedish radio more should have been done early on.

Now he has told Swedish public radio: "If we were to encounter the same disease again, knowing exactly what we know about it today, I think we would settle on doing something in between what Sweden did and what the rest of the world has done."

When asked if too many people had died too soon, Dr Tegnell said, "Yes, absolutely."

Of course it loses potency you have to reintroduce the host at some point or it literally fades away.

Notice how we dont hear anything like what that italian dr said here - either yes it's happening, or no , we see nothing like that.  We dont even see much about anti body testing other than a few reports that it's not accurate.

I dont think they like the data they're getting,it's not fitting their narrative so they say "it must be wrong".

Thing media etc misses there, is people stopped going out/interacting on a fairly massive scale everywhere before lockdowns.  So the question is how much further does a gov't imposed lockdown help?  Several South American countries (Colombia, Chile, Peru) went into massive way more strict than USA lockdowns very early in their outbreaks compared to western countries and now after 2+ months of lockdowns  they are having massive outbreaks.  Does it actually do anything?

I think the closest we could get to a good answer considering all the hundreds of large and small variables from Countries in various regions is to look at the closet neighbors as they will have the most variables in common and somewhat controlled for.

Sweden's death rate compared to Norway is over 10 times higher. They share over 1000 miles of border, you can't get much closer than that. Norway is seeing single fucking digits in terms of new cases now. Sweden just had 2200+ new cases

Norway has had 5 total deaths since May 15th.

Norway has reopened to tourism....  well you can't come in if you are a Swede though....Prob smart

COVID cases spike in Arizona and cases rapidly increasing in California

Arizona hospitals have been ordered to activate their emergency plan for the second time during the coronavirus pandemic, following increases in cases over the past several weeks.

The Arizona Republic writes that the state health director, Cara Christ, issued a letter dated June 6 to hospitals advising them to prepare for an influx in cases and suspend elective surgeries if they are experiencing or near-experiencing capacity.

The same day the letter was sent, Arizona’s largest health care system, Banner Health, reported that its ICU occupancy was rapidly increasing, and it reached capacity regarding its nine ECMO machines.

A quick check shows NV is testing about 4600/day, 200 a day positives is fairly low, 5% positives is no cause for concern, and it looks like the norm is more like 100 something.

Hospitalizations are dropping as well.

Fake news people.

Was a story in Vegas paper a few days ago stating that the virus is more contagious here, but also less fatal.
