rito
There are only a handful of socialists in office. There are 535 members of Congress. Republicans control the House, Senate, and Presidency. Republican presidents have appointed more SC justices than Democratic presidents. The GOP is in control at the moment. The Republicans control the house???? HinesWard86
agree to disagree. and im far from alone in that sentiment. I know you aren't, but it's just not accurate. Look at other political systems or talk to some political experts, and you will see much more pronounced differences between parties in other places. Until Trump was elected, both parties were very centrist. 2016 moved the GOP much further to the right on the ideological spectrum.

tailsyoulose
rand paul gets it. expert-ism is evil and anti-liberty. the solutions to prolems are best left to individuals in decentralized systems. but people like hines hate that, because they believe the average person should be told what to do by someone like him, with three useless degrees in fake subjects. Here is a quote from Rand Paul during that exact same speech: "We shouldn't presume that a group of experts somehow knows what's best for everyone." That is just absurd and downright frightening. 'Don't trust experts' is why so many people view Americans as backwards. So many people in this country don't believe our scientists and our experts....it's maddening. Why don't you want to believe an expert? Do you really think you know better than someone that has spent 10+ years studying their field? Especially with something that has such drastic consequences as infectious disease.

tailsyoulose
my favorite experts are the ones who declare themselves 'evidence-based' and then immediately throw evidence out the window when it doesnt fit their preferred motives (or when their cowardice in the face of a mob overrides their 'science'). a perfect example is the current BLM hysteria, which totally disregards all science and data. could also include the weird 'women can have penises' crowd, which includes 'experts' in the medical fields and professional societies. 'experts' are almost always evil.

Medicare for all, free college, and universal income aren't all recently devised, socialist programs endorsed by multiple Democratic Presidential candidates?
