The Tennessee Titans have closed their facilities until Saturday after three players and five non-players tested positive for COVID-19, a league source told ESPN's Dianna Russini on Tuesday.

The Titans, citing an "abundance of caution," issued a statement Tuesday saying they've halted in-person work Tuesday. The Minnesota Vikings, who played the Titans on Sunday, did the same.

The Titans weren't going anywhere this year anyways.

Maybe,Maybe not.

Still a long ways to go

The Titans have a good head coach/GM

Titans as a small market team never get any respect from the media.

Since GM Jon Robinson took over in 2016 the Titans have had 4 straight winning seasons and aiming for a 5th one this year. Robinson drafted Derrick Henry and has done well in both the draft and free agency.

Robinson even fired the last Titans head coach after a season in which they made the playoffs and won a playoff game because he knew they could do better at the head coach spot and so Robinson hired Vrabel at the beginning of 2018.

Since 2018 the Titans have beaten in the playoffs the Chiefs at Arrowhead,Patriots at Gillette and Ravens all at their own stadiums.

The last time the Chiefs lost a game was to the Titans. Besides their loss to the Chiefs the Ravens last loss was to Titans.

Since their inaugural season in 1999 through the present day 2020 the Titans rank 10th in wins(reg/post) with 183 victories and only 9 teams have won more games Pats,Colts,Steelers,Packers,Eagles,Ravens,Saints,Broncos,Seahawks.

In fact since 1999 the Titans have won 10 meetings to the Steelers 8 in that series.

The Titans made the AFC Championship last year and had two games last season that were ranked in the top 30 best offensive games in NFL history with one coming in 15th the other one 21st and the one that ranked 15th stood as the best offensive output of the season of any team.

QB Ryan Tannehill is 12-4 since taking over in week 7 of last season and has thrown 33 TDs, 7 INT along with around 4k in passing yardage and has 6 game winning drives.

The Titans are 3-0 despite not having their starting CB Adoree Jackson and starting WR AJ Brown as both are among the best on their sides of the ball. So all year we've been missing a major player on offense AND defense.

The most wins in the NFL since week 7 of last season...

Kansas City 13

Tennessee 12

Baltimore 12

Green Bay 12

San Francisco 12

Why pick week 7 to start?

Thats when Tannehill started.

Before that we were dead in the water with Mariota who was so bad at starting QB that his 3 most recent games we scored 7, 0 and 3 points. He was killing us and when they yanked him out for Tannehill all the offense is dead crap flew out the window as the Titans offense went from 32nd with Mariota to top ten at seasons end with Tannehill. Whatever happened with Gase in Miami it wasnt Tannehill fault the Dolphins couldn't win that was Gase. Since Tannehill been in Tennessee its night and day compared with Miami.

NFL success is measured by Super Bowl trophies won.

Anything less is a participation statistic...

I know this the Titans have been to 3 AFC Championship games in two decades and did make it to the 2000 Super Bowl but time ran out we were close to sending it to OT but Dyson was stopped at the 1 yard line.

The last few years there have been some first time winners like Seattle and Philly.

My mindset is a bit different, my favorite team either wins the Super Bowl or is a failure...

Well thats my ultimate goal as well but also what i'd like to see my team do is make the postseason. One of the first goals i have for the team is making the postseason. The season generally isn't as fun if your not in the postseason.

I would love to win the Super Bowl but like i said if the team makes the postseason thats great.

No one wants to watch other teams play in January because their team had a bad year.

Tenn is always among the least respected, most underrated "good" teams.  Part of it is the market, part of it is their physical, grinding, few highlight reels, we're just tougher than you, style of play.   It's really been like that since McNair, who rarely got the credit he deserved as a top of the line guy.

From a this week point of view, if Tenn and Minn can't practice, but the games are played, it's gonna be tough on both to compete.

Titans have been blessed with two once in a generation talents at RB over the last decade with Derrick Henry and Chris Johnson between them they've broken many NFL records as Johnsons 2509 total yards from scrimmage in '09 is most yards gained in NFL history and still yet to be broken. Henry has longest run in NFL history at 99 yards only one other player has ever done it.

Johnson is the only player in NFL history with 6 touchdown runs of over 80 yards and 4 of those were over 85 yards a record too

Johnson only player in NFL history with a touchdown of 50 yards, 60 yards, and 90 yards in one game

Derrick Henry is the only RB in NFL history with at least 1,250 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in any eight-game stretch. Jim Brown,Walter Payton,Emmitt Smith,Barry Sanders,Adrian Peterson,LaDanian Tomlinson, etc. have never done it.

Henry had 238 yards and 4TD's in the same game,Henry became the first RB in NFL history to accomplish the feat in fewer than 20 carries (17). He also became the second player in NFL history with a rushing touchdown of at least 90 yards and a rushing touchdown of at least 50 yards in the same game. the other player was also a Titans RB...Chris Johnson

Only two players in NFL history have gained TD's on 90+ yards and 50+ yards plays in the same game.....

Those two players are both Tennessee Titans......

RB Chris Johnson in September 2009 vs. Houston in Week 2 on runs of 57 yards and 91 yards

Johnson has an NFL record 6 runs over 80+ yards a record that hasnt been broken including a record 3 runs in one year

RB Derrick Henry in December 2018 vs Jax in Week 14 on runs of 54 yards and 99 yards which is NFL longest ever

Also Henry has 10 runs of 50+ yards and 5 runs of 70+ yards since 2017 (most in NFL since 2017)

Derrick Henry is the 1st player in NFL history with 180+ rush yards in 3 straight games.

Derrick Henry is the 1st player in NFL history with most rush yards in 2-game span in the postseason in NFL history with 377 total yards against pats and ravens

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill threw a TD on 7.7 percent of his pass attempts, the highest mark in NFL history for a QB who completed at least 70 percent of his passes. Titans’ scored a TD on 78% of their red-zone trips last season, highest rate in NFL and no one has come close to 78% since the millenium.

Incredibly, Tannehills 117.5 pass rating in 2019 is the fourth-highest single-season passer rating of all time, behind only Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2011 (122.5), Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in 2004 (121.1), and Eagles quarterback Nick Foles in 2013 (119.2).

Tannehill also averaged 9 yards per attempt while completing 70 percent of their passes only the third QB in NFL history to do so besides Sammy Baugh in 1945 and Joe Montana in 1989.

Tannehill became the third quarterback since 1991 to finish the regular season with an overall and red zone completion percentage of over 70%. (The others were New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees with 74.4% in 2018 and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Steve Young with 70.3% in 1994.)

Tannehill joined Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (three games in 2011) as the only players to complete at least 75 percent of their passes with a passer rating of 130 or higher (minimum 10 attempts) in three consecutive games in a single season in NFL history.

Tannehill also joined Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (five games in 2015) as the only players with four consecutive games with at least two passing touchdowns and a passer rating of 125 or higher in NFL history.

"There have been 11,926 NFL games played (both playoffs and regular season) since the merger in 1970. The #Titans had 2 of the top 30 games EVER in terms of yards per offensive play in modern NFL history since 1970 in 3 weeks of NFL play between November 24th and December 8th. This is extraordinarily rare territory."

On Dec. 8th at Oakland the Titans averaged 9.36 yards per play on 59 plays for 552 yards ,The highest of any NFL team in 2019. Whats crazier is they beat their own record two weeks prior of 9.06 yards vs. Jacksonville on Nov. 24th which at the time was the highest of any NFL team in 2019.

Perspective on the Titans' recent explosive offense: over the past 40 seasons, there have been just 34 games in which an offense has averaged 9.0+ yards per play.

The Titans have done it twice in the past three weeks.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WR A.J. Brown has four 50+ yard TD catches this season the last rookie to have many 50+ yard TD catches in a season was Randy Moss (1998). he is also the first rookie in NFL history to have 1,000 yards w/ 64 or fewer receptions with 52 catches for 1,050 yards,8 TD's and 20.2 yards a catch.

In 2019 the two top NFL players in explosive plays were both Titans. RB Derrick Henry had 4 carries of 50 yards plus and WR AJ Brown had 4 catches of 50 yards plus

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Teams with 4 winning seasons and 2 or more playoff berths since the start of 2016:

New England Patriots
Kansas City Chiefs
Seattle Seahawks
Tennessee Titans

That's It.
