The actor’s family confirmed his death through his sister Sarah’s X account. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian James McCardie (59), beloved son, brother, uncle and dear friend to so many,” the statement read. “Brian passed away suddenly at home on Sunday 28th April. He was 47. His death, first reported by TMZ, was confirmed on the website of the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island, Florida. McFarr’s mother Donna told TMZ that the exact circumstances of his death are unknown but that his passing was unexpected. The Orange County Medical Examiner has confirmed to Deadline that an exam has taken place and a cause/manner of death is pending toxicology results. His date of passing is listed as May 13, when he was found unresponsive. Born Antonio Gerard McFarr on October 12, 1976, the stunt performer launched his career as an uncredited stunt double for Geoff Stults on Bones in 2011. Numerous credits would follow, including Rock of Ages, Teen Wolf, The Glades, Burn Notice and, in 2014, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. In 2015, McFarr doubled for Pratt in Jurassic World, beginning a collaboration and friendship that would continue though the Jurassic sequels and Passengers. The duo’s physical resemblance made for considerable social media mentions.
