mikeman
Wow, I see why they're doing it - MONEY, but why not go to the SEC? That's a far superior conference for football.

Brock Landers
Should this latest round of conference realignment take place, however, the Big Ten would stretch from Piscataway, N.J., to Los Angeles — a mere 2,700 miles and change. Notably, such a move would mean the Big Ten would have a presence in the three biggest TV markets in the country in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. A boon for the conference as it negotiates a new media rights deal.

ND is in the ACC The others for geographic sense, but having that LA media market makes the case for this

Jimmy Hoffa
There is no Pac 12 without USC and UCLA. Unbelievable!

The bowl games other than the two playoff games mean jack shit now. Half the players sit out and they are nothing more than glorified exhibition games. Jimmy Hoffa
The Granddaddy of 'em all, ain't no more. If USC wins the Big 10, nobody wants to see them play Cal, Washington or Stanford in the Rose Bowl. That would be a joke.
xyz
This had to be network driven. The Pac12 network is failing and falling, like Obiden. The Big10 network has over 3x the subscribers compared to the 15 million that subscribe to the Pac12 net. The other thing, Fox now owns 50% of the Big10 network. So likely greater payouts ahead for Usc - Ucla.
Jimmy Hoffa
Pac 12 better go get BYU and Boise State fast.

I think that game was ruined when it became part of the BCS and playoff system. Should have kept that traditional game as it was. With the playoffs not being bowl games at all. That is probably the only way to salvage the Pac12 network. They are not going to get a significant number of subscribers from any of the Mt West schools that would counter the attrition they are going to experience now. While the Big12 still has some decent programs left.
