mikeman
looks like carpeting can go from under $1 to 4-5-6 per sq ft. some places factor in the pad and installation.
Jimmy Hoffa
I'm considering... Downstairs all wood, upstairs new carpet. About 1600 sq. ft on each floor. So, 600 new wood down stairs and 1200 new carpet upstairs.... Can they match the existing bamboo downstairs or would that have to come out? Can the same outfit do wood and carpet? Biggest question, do they move all the furniture and shit??

Jimmy Hoffa
Okay Red price this out worst case... 1600 new wood downstairs, 1600 new carpet upstairs, good carpet not shit, the best padding, complete installation and I don't lift a finger. Typically when you have the hardwood done you'd move everything to the carpeting and then do the reverse when your carpeting is being done. Paying some noob like KK to move your kitchen chairs and a lamp or two around is just silly.
Jimmy Hoffa
It a good sized house with a lot of shit in it. Couches, beds, tables, bookcases, dining room table and chairs, closets, oak roll top desk... No chance.

Give them your number. Do that twice. Find one you like better. Get price. Then tell them 1k less you’ll pay cash when done. You will save 30-50 % doing this. And they will be the same guys doing your floors if you called a company.
The X
Carpet is gross. Can't wait to get rid of ours. It might be a minute. Because we just spent 20k on a deck. And have some drainage issues.
Jimmy Hoffa
I like carpet in the bedroom, tile in the bathroom only and wood for kitchen and dining room. After those requirements are met I don't care. Did I mention moving the piano too... No way.
