Anyone ever been to a place where they sell beer by the ounce. Might try this place tomorrow. They give you a RFID bracelet, and the beer is self serve. It tracks you by how many ounces you pour.

I usually buy beer for 6-7 cents/ounce, roughly $16-18 case.

Yes my friends that own a brewery in SF installed one of these systems a few years ago. Chase center where the warriors play have one as well. .

Actually this is a good question for the forum....do you still give your normal percentage tip on the whole tab or do you adjust because you have to serve your own beer?

Been to a few wine bars like this. You load up a card and they have machines with varying punta and price points. Good way to try different stuff and tastes.

 

Don't see it translating as well to beer although most breweries will serve you flights.

Don't know of any that do the beer thing around here but would try it 🙂 f they had a unique selection.

Then pick a fave and ask for a tall boy.

Michigan just legalized these.  Now that college has started, it will be interesting to see how they are monitored in campus bars.  Of course people can’t get waitstaff help, so they go to these.

i disagree, sometimes beer flights are ridiculously expensive

everyone should know what a coffee stout or grapefruit ipa tastes like by now

i think this is another one of those dumb ideas like cooking your own steak at a restaurant, or self-serve lines at a grocery store... the human interaction at a bar is a reason to go there, otherwise you could hang out with friends or family at home where it is quieter and cheaper, and nobody has to drink and drive
