Next season should be interesting for your Titans, Mike. :cheers

It looked like the Cards would land AP at one point, but all those talks have gone away.

:cheers I really wanted to see A.P. end up there i think he is still got a lot left in the tank. At some point you know the Cards gonna have to draft a QB to replace Carson Palmer. The G.M. there is good enough he'll make the right choice. I'm hoping Mariota makes it here he is the third QB drafted by this team in the first round in the last ten years. I really like Mariota my only fear is hoping he doesn't bust because Mettenberger will eventually be flipped for a draft pick down the line and he played well enough that he is gonna be a starter at some point somewhere......

Dixon, Harrington, Clemens, Akili Smith, etc. , all NFL Draft Busts. Oregon's draft bust history is not the only thing working against Mariota, he reportedly admitted that he has a fear of the "huddle", seeing how he hasn't routinely been a leader in a huddle since high school..

Another concern about Mariota is his accuracy throwing the ball. Mariota is okay from 10-15 yards out, anything beyond that is supposedly suspect.

Looks like Oregon's gimmicky offense is hurting it's players chances or dreams of playing in the NFL and at least sticking around a few years.

Not since Dan Fouts have the Ducks had a QB with any kind success in the NFL.

Well like i said before Mettenberger was my guy but after doing research on Mariota he has a good chance of making it and has it physically and mentally to make it long term in the league. I hated it at first but as you can see from my posts i'm trying to be very positive about Mariota the guy could very well turn out to be very good so i'm trying to be upbeat about it. Myself and a lot of diehards actually preferred sticking with Mettenberger and trading the number two for extra picks but it wasn't meant to be. I provided a link a couple posts back where you can see Mettenberger Titan highlights this guy can sling the ball all over the place and is actually pretty good but he had no line,running game or defense last year and he was made the scapegoat which was B.S.

Noticed recently doing some research that 2015 had the least QB's drafted in NFL history with only seven. Only Mariota and Winston were drafted to teams needing QB's the other five QB's drafted went to Green Bay,New Orleans,St Louis,Denver,etc. The record year with the least amount of QB's drafted before was 1998 ironically the year Peyton Manning was drafted there were only eight QB drafted that year. They say Mariota has been doing good in OTA's with only one off day so far. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds this draft basically comes down to Mariota/Winston and how they ultimately play. 2015 was nothing like 2014 because last year you had Bortles to Jax,Carr to Oakland,Bridgewater to Minnesota,Manziel to Cleveland,Savage to Houston,Mettenberger to Tennessee.

2014 was way better than 2015 in that regard. Whats nuts is that in 2014 Mettenberger had the second highest passer rating besides Bridgewater and the Titans had their franchise guy in Mettenberger but they couldn't pass up Mariota due to the type pf prospect he is so now Tennessee has a good/bad situation because Mettenberger and Mariota are both good but one has to take a backseat which is Mett. Mett had good pocket presence,rocket arm,completes passes all over the field but the main flaw with Mett was he was slow getting the ball off at times and thats the main thing they've worked on so far saying he looks really good since he has started worked on his speed/mobility in OTA's. Tennessee could very well end up with one of the best QBs in the 2014 and 2015 draft. The team is going with Mariota and i think he has great potential but i like Mett a bit more i just think he is going to be good when he gets that chance.

Mariota has went without an interception for the fourth straight practice, and he’s now the only quarterback in camp who hasn’t thrown an interception. Unofficially, Mariota is 49-for-73 (67 percent) in the combined drills after four days. While drills obviously aren’t the same as game conditions, he’s still off to a pretty good start. Also ESPN reporter Kuharsky never praises the Titans so it's quite something to see him say Mariota has done well.

• In 2014, he threw 42 touchdowns vs. only four interceptions.

• From 2012 to 2013, Mariota set the Pac-12 record with 353 consecutive passes without an interception.  He became the only player in league history to put together multiple interception-free streaks of 200 attempts or more.

• His college TD to INT radio: 105 to 14.

• Mariota’s college interception percentage was 1.20% (14 of 1,167 attempts).

Some will marvel when a QB isn't throwing picks in camp — Mariota — I hear alarms going off.

.@PriscoCBS Promise you it's not because he's dinking and dunking or being overly careful. I'm not one for fast praise. He's been golden.

@JeffDarlington

I haven't watched Titans in person, but I just texted with Titans vet to see how Mariota is coming along. In three words? "Looks damn good."

@AdamSchefter
Titans' rookie QB Marcus Mariota now has gone through five practices and, at this point, has yet to throw an interception.

cant wait to check him out

Same here. We have had more bad luck than any other team period as far as QB. Haven't had a franchise QB since McNair left in 2005. Have had a different leading passer every year since 2005 no passer has led the team in passing two years straight. Can't get McNair to come back and be a QB coach because he is dead. The last guy we picked Locker only played 22 of 44 games due to injury.

In Mariota's three seasons as a college starter he went 36-5 overall with 10,796 yards passing and 2,237 yards rushing with 105TD and only 14INT completing 67% of his passes in his career. From 2012 to 2013, Mariota set the Pac-12 record with 353 consecutive passes without an interception.  He became the only player in league history to put together multiple interception-free streaks of 200 attempts or more. In 2014, he threw 42 touchdowns vs. only four interceptions. Mariota’s college interception percentage was 1.20% (14 of 1,167 attempts) Mariota's TD/INT ratio was one of the best in college football history. Mariota was second in the country in completion percentage (over 70%) when throwing from the pocket.

Mariota can make all the throws, if anyone has watched film or the Combine, he has proven that. A major misconception about Mariota is that he runs a lot and doesn't have good pocket skills when that couldn't be further from the truth. Mariota spent the majority of his junior campaign throwing passes from the pocket but he is a good runner as well which makes him truly dangerous. He is a passer first with running ability, not the other way around. He has that ability to make plays with his legs, extend the play and push the ball downfield.

He was the top performer at the combine in numerous categories including. a 4.52 forty yard dash,36.0 vertical jump,121.0 broad jump,6.87 three second cone drill,4.11 second twenty yard shuttle. His size, athleticism and consistency of football character throughout his career are necessary traits in becoming a good-to-great quarterback. He flourished at Oregon in reading coverages and diagnosing defenses in pre-snap situations. His football IQ is off the charts with the way he reads defenses and goes through his progressions. He understands blitz packages much like Drew Brees and Tom Brady. He has an excellent memory and his ability to retain information and process it quickly makes him a special player. Mariota has highest QBASE rating since 2012. Since '95,only six QB's Rivers,Palmer, McNabb,Wilson,RGIII and Manning had better projections.

When asked to throw down field, make post-snap reads and deliver the ball to the correct spot, Mariota is at the top of the college QB chart. I've seen him make accurate throws on the run, to the outside, over the middle, down the sideline, in the flats, on check downs, on hot reads and going deep. His ball placement is among the elite. He has enjoyed 68.5% (2012), 63.5% (2013) and 68.8% (2014) completion percentages in college. His ability to spot the ball in the face of pressure means he has a very valuable asset that a lot of teams will like when they come to evaluate him for their teams. Chip Kelly has said he has never been around a QB in college or pros that can process information and then use his athleticism to go out on the field and make it happen and also has the highest football IQ of any QB he has ever seen. "He might be the fastest guy on the field, but his mind is even faster," Kelly said of Mariota.

Mariota is very intelligent,extremely athletic,phenomenal work ethic,good passer and uses his legs to extend plays,constantly in playbook and watching film to try and improve,high character guy who avoids social media and nightlife,etc. It is not common to find a prospect who has all the attributes Mariota has because usually there will be a few weaknesses or key things prospects are missing but Mariota offers pretty much everything you'd want in a rookie. He has been described as a bigger Russell Wilson. Mariota is very competitive and hates to lose. One head coach said if you put everything about a QB you want into a computer program to make the perfect QB when it is done it would be one in the mold of Marcus Mariota. He can beat you by throwing from the pocket or beat you by running with his legs which makes him very dangerous. Rare to have a QB with the physical and mental abilities Mariota possesses.

Doesn't look like he is losing any of his edge in his first NFL game against Tampa he completed 13 of 16 passes for 210 yards and 4TD with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 the first rookie in the history of the league to do that in his first game. Mariota is also is also the youngest QB to throw 4 TDs in a game as well and only one to do it in his first game.

The kid had a nice start. Don't forget who he played though. A nice 2nd game coming up against the Browns. At least he wasn't thrown to the wolves right away. He does have an arm though. Good zip on the ball. You need talent around you though. That is suspect at best. Too early to tell. There are some tough defenses out there. Well have to wait and see. He sure did a hell of a lot better than anus Jamius.
