From 1997 to 2013, 1,400 girls in Rotherham were sexually exploited by numerous Pakistani gangs in what became the UK's biggest scandal in recent years. The city's social workers refused to help the girls when they learned that they had been raped by Pakistanis because they feared accusations of racism. And parents who tried to protect their children were arrested for inciting ethnic hatred.
