Boatboatboat
That a college program like a Harvard or Dartmouth with an Alumni base with DEEP pockets would take a run at a Basketball title via NIL. Pay 4-5 hot shot recruits to come stick around for 3-4 years rather then opting for the NBA and see what happens. Much easier to buy a hoops title then a foots title. No, Ivy Leagues do not award merit, talent, or athletic scholarships to prospective students. Instead, they offer some of the strongest need-based financial aid programs in the world. For instance, all of the Ivy League schools are committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need for prospective students. https://scholarships360.org/scholarships/ivy-league-scholarships/#:~:text=No%2C Ivy Leagues do not, demonstrated need for prospective students. Chi_Archie
it's been and being discussed still I'm sure ... https://www.dailyprincetonian.com/article/2023/04/name-image-likeness-princeton-university-policy-ivy-league-ncaa-student-athletes With the men’s basketball team making a trip to the Sweet 16 at this year’s NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, questions have floated on how the University can continue to attract top talent to its athletics rosters. While Princeton, like all schools in the Ivy League, does not offer athletic scholarships, Princeton student-athletes can profit off “name, image, and likeness” (NIL) opportunities. The Ivy League defines NIL as student-athletes “engaging for money or other consideration (goods, services, gifts-in-kind, or other forms of payment) in any engagement, business transaction, or advertising promotion.”

Jimmy Hoffa
With these Ivy League schools losing BIG $$$$ donors over their political stances lately, athletics might be an opportunity for them to shore up their coffers.
