A sports bar in Minnesota is attempting to break into an untapped market by featuring women's sports on their premises.

Women's college basketball, Pro Volleyball Federation matches, and other popular female sporting events littered the establishment's walls. The bar, appropriately called A Bar of Their Own in reference to the 1992 Tom Hanks and Geena Davis film about an all-women's baseball league, opened its doors for the first time on Friday, March 1 to immense crowds and overwhelming support.

"We were expecting it to be busy, no question. This is exceeding any expectations I may have had," said owner Jillian Hiscock, via KMSP Fox 9. Patrons who knew what to expect coming into the bar were blown away at the bar's commitment to women's sports. One customer was quoted, "When I walked in, I was super overwhelmed. I've wanted a space like this for so long, and to finally see it come to fruition, it's exciting."

Women's college basketball is hot, agreed. You have the two SEC teams that don't like each other, the girl on LSU that white people like to root against, the girl on Iowa white people like to root for and black people like to root against.

However it won't translate to ratings LONGTERM for WNBA. of course wherever Clark goes will see bump. But rest of WNBA is just not likeable enough, compared to college women's hoops, where the girls are more "wholesome" and look more like their daughters. College women's hoops you obviously get the fans of the schools and state pride involved.

On other hand in WNBA many look like tattoed criminals and you're just not going to get same turnout. A dad willing to bring his daughter to games where the girls look normal, not to a game where the girls look like they should be in a prison yard.

I don't know one soul that watches women's basketball and nor does anybody.  If they were actually popular and profitable then the NBA wouldn't have to fund the WNBA.

Also this doesn't help.  "The future faces of women's basketball need to be black."  Basically a big FU to your girl Caitlin Clarke.  Imagine if a white journalist wrote that baseball needs less black and latinos and to get back to it's roots of white all-stars.
