WVU
Careful on your use of "Cancels" try. Could mess you up when you really need to use it. They limit the amount you can use weekly and monthly.really? I wonder why? Any idea what the weekly limit is?

Luna2014
Signing the husband up for new acct. Can't believe how many on here are throwing bets out without looking at PP's - are you guys actually making $$ this way? Thinking about starting at Parx with Cotillion & Derby...appreciate the previous input from those in the know - first time in this forum - haters don't hate please! 2w2p2s
They don't give a specific number. This is their rule with regards to cancelling wagers: Wagers may be cancelled by You after a Notice of Confirmation has been issued by XPRESSBET; however XPRESSBET reserves the right to limit the number and the amount of cancelations that You can perform. XPRESSBET will be held harmless in the event that, due to any reason, a wager fails to be cancelled. They do this to protect against pool manipulation. I've hit the limit before with them. WeinkeToWarrick
My buddy told me he got limited at 20 cancels but he would have done them all in a 2 day time frame.

Thinking about starting at Parx with Cotillion & Derby...appreciate the previous input from those in the know - first time in this forum - haters don't hate please! this is a great great great best ever offer sign up is a huge overlay positive situation. Virtually anything you did would still be worth doing, capping included, Only terrible thing would be plunging the odds on a bet at a small handle track.....so handicap away if you desire. you are playing against the same track take out, but with capping on your own depending on your bet size, you are not virtually guaranteeing a nice profit easily in the ~700 range if you cap away and turn to be a lousy capper you willhave less, but the opposite can be true as well. so many here are doing things a bit different no capping, to virtually guarantee that nice payday and not bother with capping. important thing is to sign up, give somebody a referral bonus for another free $50 to a special someone, ive got a code if anyone still building up next 2 days and want to put down mine that would be most cool of you thanks in advance. use: XBF06050 this whole deal is just crazy good....and when you talk to them in customer service they are all so happy, excited you are asking questions doing the $1000 new deal, so helpful...its bizarre! WVU
Bizarre is right. The promo manager will get kudos for the next month and then walking papers in 3. I am guessing they get 5,000 signups for this. That would have them giving away 5 million which would break the record 4 million that casino on net gave away on their roulette promo in 2001. They won't lose near as much as you're predicting (if anything), and the money they do lose will probably be money much better spent than could ever be spent on advertising. Remember they are making money every time you submit a wager. Subtract commission for $2K in bets from the $1K bonus. Then subtract the amount from people that 1) get back far less than the $1K, 2) get nothing back from the $1K, 3) actually turn a profit from the $1K and continue to bet giving more commissions to Xpressbet. A lot of you guys still have the mindset Xpressbet is a book. It is not. It makes money on churn. They want you to win, they make more money when you do. WVU
I suspect many of the 5000 new accounts won't be the churning type. This outfit has never had to deal with big bonus players before. This is all new to them. Yeah they gave away $100 for several years but $1000 is unique. I am not saying they are going to lose 5 million but they are giving it away as bonus money, This promo has spread like wild fire. At least in South Florida it has. WVU
I also could be way off on my 5000 new accounts guess. It could be 1000 or it could be 25,

Right, but they are also not giving the bonus players any wager rewards either. Saying they are giving away $1K with this bonus is a little deceiving from the Xpressbet side. In the worst possible scenario for them of a guy only betting exactly $2K and cashing out for $2K or more they'll lose less than $800. Impossible for them to actually give away the whole $1K. And I believe the amount of players that cash out the entire $2K just meeting the bonus to be very small. Also, we are AP's discussing this on a gambling board, we are in a very small minority of their new customer base. It may cost them on average $200 per bonus, maybe even less. But like I said, that is probably cheap compared to other marketing avenues and the attention they've gotten.
WVU
The EV on this deal is $680. New depositing player acquisition costs for sportsbooks is about $400 now so this isn't that far off. I think you are underestimating how many bonus whores that are all over this. I would be willing to bet over 50% of the new accounts will never deposit again.

trytrytry
depending on what types of bets the customer is making XPRESS bet gets as PROFIT about 5-12 % WPS depending on the tracks and their contracts with them, and as high as 16-20% on some wager types from the mutual pools, if you are betting superfectas, etc. so they are in effect giving back as a bonus the money they would otherwise pocket in being an ADW.... Granted they have expenses and overhead...

I would be willing to bet over 50% of the new accounts will never deposit again. If it's really 50%, they will be elated. I think you are greatly underestimating the future benefits they will be getting. The reason for the offer is simple- they are trying to lure players away from TVG. You are greatly disregarding the future profits that will be gained by this promo. $100 isn't enough to get people to change. $1,000 I'm sure is enough to get people to change, and why they did it. This promo could generate MILLIONS in future churn from players that were using TVG exclusively. This will greatly, greatly offset the amount of AP's just using the bonus for a one-time sign up. richsox24
They are definitely trying to lure players away from tvg, twin spires, betzotic, and others. Which leads me to this question, is there any chance that one of the other places will come up with a good offer in the coming months? The TVG/Xpressbet war has always been one trying to outdo the other. It has changed policy for both ADW's. The "quarter hog" promo Xpressbet ran against TVG was my favorite, and actually got TVG to drop their wager charge. If TVG is smart they'll come up with a good promo (more than they are currently running) for current accounts as well as newer accounts. richsox24
tvg is probably the biggest adw site out there. They have a tv network with analysts showing live races every day from a variety of tracks.
milwaukee mike
Who is the biggest outfit? I never even heard of xpressbet before this. 2w2p2s
As Rich and Mike have said, TVG is the largest ADW in the country. They have the power of their TV station which also has alliances to the Fox/Prime Sports channels that at times also carry their broadcast. It is the most widely distributed horse racing network in the world. They are owned by Betfair. Xpressbet is playing catch-up. They do have an alliance with HRTV, but that channel has fewer cable/satellite providers. HRTV also has no alliance with mainstream TV channels like TVG. 2w2p2s
Xpressbet has a lot more to be worried about than the current promo, this could be a big problem: http://www.santaanita.com/events/8214/#.VBs0HPldV0o This could turn out to be a nice +EV opportunity.
